I ride on a Honda Brio car which has wheels with tires from MRF Ltd. MRF tires are world famous and entertain a good reputation in terms of its quality. But, I was surprised by an incident that took recently and had to change my opinion about MRF tires. It absolutely does not fit to its world wide reputation for sure.

I have so far taken ride on my car amounting 33,000 kilo meters and as specified in the manual of my car, the tires need to be changed after 40,000 kilo meters of ride. On last Tuesday, I had travel led to Puri on my car to pick up my father for a medical treatment and was returning from Puri at around 3 o'clock in the afternoon. After 15 kilo meters of ride, I heard severe sound coming from the back side of my car. Then I stopped my car and moved out. I was taken aback to see the tire of the left rear wheel which was completely torn apart, however, the tire did not burst. One complete layer measuring almost 5 to 7 mm was torn apart from the tire and hit the back bumper damaging it significantly. Then I changed the wheel and came to Bhubaneswar. When I went to Honda show room for repair, I was told that there might be some manufacturing defect which led to the incident. They also promised that the tire would be replaced by MRF company. But this incident rose a set of questions in me that I would like to detail below.

1) First of all, looking at the incident, I was bound to think that the tire was a resoled one which is absolutely disgusting. How can a new car have a wheel with a resoled tire?

2) I am sure that the pressure was not high since the tire did not burst. Then what could be the reason of it?

3) Moreover, had the tire burst, it would lead to a severe accident and had it happened, how could the company compensate it?

4) Finally, should the company take the full responsibility of it and provide the moral compensation for it?
