We had been to MM Hills two weeks back. We were four Ajay, Arun, Vijay and me (Shashidhar). Ajay was enthusiastic, because his "Dream" was to see "Swamy". At 5 we left from Bangalore and reached Maddur, the Ex-CM of Karnataka SM Krishna's town.

From Maddur we left for MM Hills, after a heavy break-fast. We reached MM Hills at 12.30 and Mahadeshwara Swamy's temple was visible from the bus stand. We went directly to a nearby tap fixed by Temple Authorities (Govt. of Karnataka, Dept. of Mujarai).

We had a bath and came "Prasad Nilay", where we had Prasad of Swamy and stood in queue for "Darshan". We stood almost 4 hours from 1.30 pm. Finally at 5.30 we got Darshan and we purchased some eatables, books about the historical value of the place and Mahadeshwara Swamy. According to local people The Sage lived in the 12th Century and he was riding on a mythological animal which had Lion's Head and Tiger's body.

He was knowing Mantra and Tantra (Black Magic), which he used for the betterment of people in and around the Betta (Hill). He lived when Basavanna in Basavakalyan was popular with Veerashaiva Dharma. The place is serene with gren big trees and rich medicinal herbs. No pollution, no traffic, no mobile towers. A place you MUST visit. The distance is 210 Kilo meters from Bangalore by bus.

Costs around Rs. 122/-by bus. From Majestic you can catch bus directly to MM Hills. Better go on Saturdays, so that you all can have rest on Sunday. The bus goes via Maddur, Malavalli, Kollegal (notorious for black magic), MM Hills. The bus crawls like a serpent on the hill. It is very nice to see the great beauty of 77 Hills around MM Hills.

Hotels and Restaurants are available there, so no need to worry about boarding and lodge. We left MM Hills at 6 and reached Bangalore at 12 in midnight. if you plan for two days its very good. There is one math called Bruhanmath is there. We can see acve where he (Swamy) meditated. So why wait, starts packing things. Bye
