I was a regular user of Microsoft. I never believed anybody could deliver better than an Outlook Express.

Now the views have changed. I started using the Superb ‘Lotus Notes’ one year back. It changed the way of handling mails.

And the new version R5 that provides many new features that will change the way you use Notes. Below is a list of a few of these new features.

Below are the few things I like about this dare devil.

The Welcome Page: A new Welcome page (a replacement for the ''Workspace'') will let you select what information you want to see, and how you want to see it, when you launch Lotus Notes. You can choose to see important e-mail messages, tasks, meetings, and key Web sites, even updates from Intranet applications, all from the Welcome page.

Web-style navigation. If you've been spending time on the Web, the look and feel of Notes R5 - with its new back, forward, stop and refresh buttons - will be immediately familiar.

Task Buttons: New Task Buttons at the top of the screen help you keep track of multiple open pages and quickly navigate among them. In addition, you'll no longer be limited to opening only nine Notes documents at a time. Closing tasks is easy too - just move the mouse to the task button and click on the ‘x.

Bookmarks: You can easily create links to Web pages, Intranet applications, documents, views and forms for instant access with a single click. You simply drag and drop a Task Button to the Bookmarks Bar on the left side of the screen to create a new Bookmark, then single click on a bookmark to open the associated application or page. You can also drag and drop bookmarks to quickly and easily rearrange them.

Group Calendaring: Bookmark group calendars for instant access to a snapshot of your team's availability. And you can take it with you by printing your calendar in views of a day, week, two weeks or a month.

Enjoy working with your new client!
