Caution MS: How come you are allowing members to submit the reviews of two to four lines? Is this a new criterion to write a full-fledged review on MS? Highly disappointed! Also, you are not allowing me to rate those reviews as “Not Useful” stating I cannot rate beyond two reviews as “NU”. Kindly get back to basics and do justice to the world of reviews.

Coming back to the review of Kabir Singh, I have been reading mixed reactions and some are overreactions. I believe people are so naïve; they cannot make out how the movie is going to be like on the big screen? Or they want to watch it adamantly to spread the word of mouth as their two cents. Some are genuinely watching it to compare it with the original Arjun Reddy and digging old grave of comparison between Vijay Deverakonda and Shahid Kapoor. Well, I have seen both movies and I loved AR more for obvious reasons but I equally loved Shahid Kapoor as Kabir Singh for portraying his character like an insane, toxic, spoilt-brat for whom world doesn’t exist at all.

Kabir Singh has many flaws as a character but script-wise he was flawless. Nowhere in the movie was he portrayed as a clean and pure character rather his upbeat madness, raw and rude behavior makes him a winner throughout the movie. I have read so many words written about male domination, misogyny, patriarchy and physical abuse. Except the first scene where he was about to rape a woman on the knife point should have been avoided at all. Anything without consent is considered as a rape. Also, KS running behind his maid on the verge of killing and scaring the hell out of her should have been another scene cut down short due to not setting up the right example for nerds who gets inspired by movies at all levels.

His lady love was equally responsible for entertaining such a retarded and damaged character. Feelings even physical abuse was mutual between them. He hits her, she hits back. Both of them were made for each other so what people are seeing as male domination shouldn’t target male community at all. Kiara Advani hit him twice I believe and moreover, since the first scene she has shown keen interest in him while missing out her classes so it rules out the possibility of him controlling her from all corners in life.

Ego was again mutual between both of them. They were the cause and solution of their problems which they realized after making us go through 2 hrs. 55 mins with all sorts of melodrama, abuses, fights, communication gap etc.

If you are going to watch this movie to learn a lesson out of it then it is “Don’t go for unconsented sex”. Ask for consent please. Kindly do not smoke or consume alcohol because he did. He has been paid a lot of money which you won’t get. Also, if you are a doctor please don’t operate on us under the influence of alcohol. It’s scary. He was caught but how many doctors don’t get caught and even if they do what happens next? I don’t want to find a scissor or a knife left in my stomach someday just because doctor who operated on me was intoxicated. Have some mercy please!

All in all, KS deserved Preeti and vice-versa. They both can be counted as birds of feather flock together. Let’s keep it as a movie only and stop watching everything as a national controversy.
