A loud and sensless movie

Genre: Action

Released: 16th September '05

Director: Rohit Jugraj

Cast: Mohit Ahlawat, Zakir, Neha Kothari, Shereveer, Rajpal Yadav

( Exceptional, Brilliant, Good, Average, * Avoidable)

James proves to be nothing more than a weird launching vehicle (or the supposed star-maker) for Mohil Ahlawat who plays Jay in forthcoming ''Ram Gopal Varma ka Sholay''. This vehicle has wheel balancing and alignment out of tune and makes for a rather bumpy ride.

In short: A loud movie with no purpose at all. Oops, the purpose (purportedly) is to make a star out of a newcomer.

The highlights:

Action. Never seen/done before in Bollywood.

The let-downs:

Mohit Ahlawat. He needs to work hard on his dialogue delivery. He is an average actor and someone needs to remind RGV that he is not the only one around with muscular body and soft face. Stars are not made by filmmakers but by the audience.

Loudness of the movie. It initially gives you a high but then starts hurting you sensibilities and finally your ears and eyes too. Garish skin show and gory action further reduce the already thin plot.

Horribly terrible humor bringing about Rajpal Yadav's only failed attempt at humor so far.

The limiting factors:

The movie is devoid of content.

A little more about the movie: Nothing worthwhile to talk to about. Still, to do the customary, action is good and all other departments bad. Music is below average. The villains are unrealistically idiotic in their approach and unthinkably dumb in their execution. Rationality is something that Rohit Jugraj seems to have an enmity with.

Good actors have been wasted and the rest been made to look like a bunch of shouting buffoons. What a utter waste of money and time!

Zakir gets to do nothing. Shereveer is good as an actor but his irrationally-carved-character irritates to the core.

Sorry Ms Kothari but if showing skin could do the trick we would have had quite a few hundreds of stars born in Bollwood every year. There are others who have better bodies and are willing to show as much as (and sometimes more than) you have.

Mohit Ahlawat needs a few lessons on dialogue delivery. Another thing to learn would be to emote. Yet another may be to use eyes to express anger, fear etc. Hey, he needs to learn how to act!

When the promos said, ''James! Rising of a Hero. Coming Bloody Soon!'' We should have known that this one is going to fall flat on its face and bleed, bleed heavily.

The attempted humor is totally out of sync with the rest of the movie and serves as mere filler. Rajpal Yadav tries his best to bring to life a dry script but his efforts aren't good enough to make pretty such an abysmally rotten film.

James is Disappointing, disgusting and ridiculous.
