Story:

A book that takes you down the years and brings you right at the battle ground for the fight for freedom. Presented in vivid detail through the pen of different writers, the book contains everything that makes it a good knowledge bank.

It is a book that does not emphasize much on the dates and facts, but on the ideologies and approach of the revolutionaries and freedom fighters. This book takes on a holistic approach on the Indian freedom struggle discussing the pros and cons of the British Empire. Plus, the pages of the book are very "fictional"- the pages are similar to the pages of a story book, which makes it a very alluring read.

It almost covers everything related to Indian National Movement. In the midway I realized that it is truly a pro-congress or pro-nationalist book. But, then also I proceeded. There are times, when it tries to justify the stand of Congress on critical matters. A reader must read it with this'bias' in mind of authors because as already been said by others that most of the authors are from JNU and in some way or other are associated with different government institutions. The book holds facts that are primarily from researched and oral sources. It is the first major book on the struggle and is written in a very concise manner. happy experience.
