My younger brother 23yrs old went for a trip on kullu manali, got a high altitude sickness there. He was having a problem of short of breathlessness. His friends immediately admitted him in a city hospital in manali where they said he need a ventilator as he got a disease which is high altitude pneumonia edema. As they were not having ventilator so they have given initial treatment and referred him to Chandigarh PGI. We went to PGI, as it's govt hospital they said they don't have ventilator available and we need to be in que. So we thought to search for a private hospital. We went to fortis, max there in Chandigarh but they were also not having ventilator available. At last they have given us a choice to go to IVY hospital in Mohali where he got a ventilator. They have admitted him immediately and without any discussion or test they just put him on a ventilator in ICU. We were not sure if he actually needs a ventilator because the only problem was that he was having shortness of breath. He was in his full senses and even talking. He lies on Stecher by his own. without any help. After that they have seduct him. When we asked what is the situation they keep saying he is critical. They said that his lungs is filled with water and that's why he is not able to breathe. However other organs were working absolutely fine. They just have one physician Dr . Suresh Kumar Goyal who is specialist in lungs. In initial 2days all the doctors there were saying he is improving so we were like bit relaxed. They were not allowing us to go and see our patient. We understand people are not allowed to go in a ICU however we do have right to see our patient and what is happening with him in a ICU at least 3 times a day. At third day they said they tried to vein him from ventilator however he was not able to vein due to his lungs infection. my question is that why didn't they call us when they tried to vein him. We would have seen by our own eyes his reaction. they were just hiding things. Then we asked for the summary so that we can take the second opinion. They provided the summary and described us the situation in a very rude manner. ICU head Dr. Rajiv Dhunna doesn't even know how to speak with the patients attendents. our brother was in ICU, it's been 3days no improvement, we r depositing money after money and he was so rude, no empathy at all. When I asked him can we take my bro to delhi, his reply was you can take him to US as well upon your risk. I went to Fortis and showed the summary they said treatment is ok. we asked Delhi's hospital as well they also said treatment was ok. the only question is the treatment they have provided in the summary was actually given? If yes, then why my brother was not getting improved? Dr. Ashish, Dr Vikas they were just saying we are trying our best. they have never said you can take him to Delhi we cannot treat him. after 3days his condition was getting worst day by day.we hardly see any improvement. neither they were Allowing us to take him to Delhi nor he was improving there. Whenever we think to shift him they divert us. Also, we heard it's famous in Chandigarh to show people alive on ventilator. then we went to the ICU and check his nerves he was alive. the only thing is that staff and doctors there are unprofessional and just doing business. they never accept or say that they cannot seems they don't even know the exact brother was on ventilator for 7days and then he loose the battle. In the morning we got a call from hospital that ol of sudden his BP got dropped and his heart stopped. How can we believe this? We admitted him in a very good condition. he was talking to us.he was on his senses. After they took him to ICU he didn't open his eyes.they killed him by giving home over dosages.they were just experimenting on him medicines after medicines. He was just 23 and couldn't survive because of the lose of attention or seriousness from the doctors there. if they knew he will not be surviving they would have told us. in last 2 days they were just calling us again and again for depositing the money. they are doing the business there. specially with the ICU patients.we lost our single brother there. if they would said us that they cannot treat him then we would have taken him to delhiand I am sure he would have survived. My lovely brother.went for a trip and now no more with us. Just because of these bad hospital's. Never go to IVY if you love ur people and they are critical. I hope it's reaches to CEO of IVY.
