I stay in Gurgaon, Haryana. Being an NCR, Gurgaon comes under the Delhi branch office of IFB.


I bought an IFB top-loading washing machine AW60-8062 from the internet at Price: Rs. 14300.00


Their technician came to our house and installed the machine. He also demonstrated the machine to my satisfaction.


For the first year it worked without any glitch. One fine day it started making weird noise (kind of hammering sound). I got scared and removed all the clothes from the machine. I thought may be it was overloaded. But when I put in few clothes, it started making even louder noise. I complained to the customer care centre. My machine was still within warranty period. The same technician visited my place. He diagnosed that the shocker was damaged, He told me that it will be changed free of cost the next day. The technician came the next day with new parts and changed them.


This happened last year, when my machine was under warranty.


After one month or so, the warranty expired, and the technician visited my place again offering AMC(Annual Maintainance Contract). Seeing the promptness of the service centre, I bought the AMC right then.


For the next 7 months, the machine worked fine. It started showing the same problems (i.e. making loud noise while washing). This time, fortunately, my machine was under AMC (I thought it was lucky).


There was no response from the service centre in the first week of complaint. In the second week, there was a call from the technician that he will be coming in the next couple of hours. There was no sign of him for the next 15 days. Not to mention, I was following up with the service centre and call centre almost every alternate day.


After one month of rigorous following up, the technician finally came. No prizes for guessing what was the fault, yes, it was the shocker once again! He also said that he will be back with new shockers the very next day. He disappeared without any trace after that.


Again after following up for several weeks... I got a list of people to contact and their contact numbers from the call centre.

Response: The lady who picks up the call is very rude and arrogant. She argued with me that the technicians are trying to do their job, I need to keep patience. refused to give me any deadline when the


machine should start working.

Response: After assuring me on Wednesday (13th July 2011) that the problem will be solved by the evening, Vikas has stopped receiving my calls and apparently has given his cellphone to some technician named Kamal.

Response: After taking my call on Thursday, and assuring me that he will look into the matter, he never got back. Now whenever I call, his phone is switched off.

I had lost my patience by this time.


Then one day my husband got everyone into a conference call (initiated by some good soul in the service centre itself). The shocker got replaced after two days of that call. But there was one more problem, there is a lint filter which had got damaged because it came out automatically and made some strange sound. (Initially, I had thought that the reason for the noise is filter itself). They never changed the filter till date. After a fortnight of constant bugging the call centre (because they are the ones who actually take the call)I got a call from service centre that they will change the filter but I will be charged for that.


I find it ridiculus. I therefore will NEVER recommend any IFB product to any of my friends or foes.
