I had purchased two 1.5 Ton IFB make ACs in March 2014 in Jabalpur.  One of the ACs is not giving adequate cooling ever since the installation. I used to call the dealer from whom I purchased the AC and the problem was attended only after repaeted pursuance, on a number of occasions. I was told that no major problem existed. This continued till Oct’14, after which no need for AC was felt and the matter was not pursued any further.

Subsequently, as the need for the AC was felt in April’15, it was again discovered that the AC was not working properly and was unable to give adequate cooling. Again complaint was made and whole lot of experiments were made. At one point of time, I was told that the ‘Voltage was not adequate’ and on the other that ‘no proper earthing was there’. All experiments were proven vague . On an occasion, IFB service centre guys, ended up cleaning the filter, washing the outer units and finally changing the condenser.

Thus the one year warrantee expired During all this period(April to June’15), the AC worked randomly, at its sweet will. The problem persisted & on one visit, the IFB guys told that the Compressor was defective and shall have to be changed. I argued for doing it free of cost as the same was not working properly since it installation, but was told that the compressor shall be replaced free of charge but I have to pay for the gas & its filling including the freight charges for new compressor. I reluctantly agreed, even though there is no fault of mine as the AC is carrying an inherent defect. Eventually, the compressor was replaced in End July15 .

After running for about a fortnight or so, the cooling problem again started appearing. Cooling was again erratic and by the end of the Month, the AC stopped working completely. I again made complaint on 6th Sept’15(Complaint No 16364805) which was attended on 10th instant. After series of experiments for about two Hrs, I was again informed that the Compressor(newly replaced) is defective and needs to be replaced again. Since then, no feed back is given to me .

I have made complaimt again to one Ms Aditi Das, I don't know where she is stationed but after 6 days no one contacted me & the problem persists. I can be seen the product has inherant defect & needs to repleced in Toto(The complete). Somebody  Kindly suggest how ity acn be done? I am thinking of going to the Consumer Forum.
