Dear ICICI bank, I thought yours is one of the best banks in the country and trusted you.


I have decided to open a business account with you and approach your branch in Miryalguda of Telangana. To my surprise, the bank has refused to open an account for me saying that they cant trust a Blind person, and the manager Mr. Madhu simply ignored my application.


I was badly hurt, cant people trust a blind in this country? Cant a blind even open a bank account?


I requested the manager, but he refused.


Later I have made my mind to open the account in my wife's name and run the business. We were running the business for a long time, we were operating this account with a lot of difficulty with the people working in the branch.


Recently on 27/04/2020, there were 2 unauthorized funds transfers for rs172. And rs17483 noticed in my account, and I contacted the branch manager, Mr. Madhu, immediately over the phone and told him about the transfer. He was very reluctant, he just asked me to call the customer care and cut the call on my face. Later I tried calling him many times he never answered my call.


One of my friends gave me the customer care number of ICICI bank, and I happened to be on hold for almost 47 minutes. Later, a lady has taken my complaint and she said she is blocking my internet banking account, and my debit card until the problem is addressed. She said it will take a maximum of 6 weeks and she gave me the complaint number SR677784361.


In between, I tried contacting the call center many times to know the status of my complaint, but they were asking me to visit the branch all the time. I told them my problem that as now there is no net banking available on my account and there is no debit card it is becoming a big problem for us to manage my day to day activity as I am a blind person and you know how difficult it is for a blind person to manage


there life.


Since then I have reputedly visited the branch along with my wife to check the status, but the manager and his staff treated us very badly. We were made to sit for a long, long time in the bank without any reason. And they just use to say they have no update yet.


I requested the branch manager to respond to me over the calls so that I can know the status over the phone as it is a big challenge for me to visit the branch every time since I am a blind person, and I have to depend on someone to come to the branch every time. And you can understand how difficult it is to find someone during this lockdown.


To date, I made hundreds of calls to the manager but he dint even replied to a single call.


On 23/06/2020, I called the assistant manager Mr. Faheem and requested him a lot to arrange a callback from the bank manager. But no luck.


I informed them that I will approach the police. Even then they dint respond.


I urge people to help me recover my hard-earned money which is very very important for me to survive during this lockdown.


I request ICICI bank to investigate where my money went and help me recover my money back soon.


And finally, I request ICICI bank to have some soft corner on the people with disability. Please don't behave with them like this. We are not as independent as you are. I understand that you don't link to bank with us. But at least don't make us suffer this way.


I think things would not have been this hard if am not blind.
