I had purchased Air Conditioner Hitachi I Clean Model which is certified as 5 star in Energy efficiency, with a special feature whereby it is supposed to automatically clean itself and collect the dust into a side pocket, which we are supposed to clean periodically. The price of the AC was a whoppin Rs. 40000/-


The Air Conditioner was unable to provide proper cooling and the features given in the catalog were also not functional, for example, it has a preset condition of cooling for optimal consumption of power set at 25 degrees, but when the AC was set on this setting there was hardly any cooling.


Since the Model was new to the market, even the representatives of Authroised Service Centre were not confident on how to attend and what was to be done it took them more than 10 visits by all kinds of personnel, before they could identify what the problem was, then since it was in the warrantee period they replaced a card, and cooling did start, but  a new problem cropped up, the IClean feature wont work, and the Airconditioner would get clogged with dust within a period of 45 days to 60 days and need to be subjected to servicing fequently, The Service Centre People are so arrogant that they think no end of themselves, throwing their weight around that I am so and so, and a specialist of this kind or that kind, treating the consumer as a dumb ignorant fool who has invested his hard earned money only to be cheated by, stupid arrogant, incompetent professionals who neither know the job properly or who try to impose their Brand Name on a Customer to dominate him.


I was intially in Delhi where I had purchased the AC, I shifted to Sambalpur Orissa in December 2015, I had contacted Hitachi Service Center, Ahmedabad, on 26th February and registered our request for installation of AC at my residence in Sambalpur in Orissa, who gave us the contact No. of  Bhubaneshwar Unit of Hitachi, We tried to contact Bhubaneshwar several times before anyone picked up the call. He advised that a technician would telephone before and come from Bhubaneshwar to do the job. But there was no response from their end.


We tried several times but there was no response from Bhubaneshwar, we again contacted Ahmedabad Unit of Hitachi, who advised us that our call was registered and some action would be taken.


No action was initiated, then we again contacted Hitachi Ahmedabad in the month of March and registered a fresh complaint, We were assured that Bhubaneshwar Unit would definitely look into this matter this time.


After several attempts we could talk to Bhubaneshwar Unit and when we threatened to complain against Bhubaneshwar Unit, they gave us the contact No. of a local Dealer in Sambalpur.


The Prices as informed by Hitachi Ahmedabad and Bhubaneshwar Unit was Rs. 1550 for Installation and Rs. 750 per M for provision of Copper tubing.


The Sambalpur Dealer  was also very arrogant and would not take up the call, When we contacted the Bhubaneshwar Unit, he took a conference call and thereafter lot of persuasion came to do the work. After doing the work the fellow did not want to give me the money receipt of the work done


He also demanded Rs. 750 extra for servicing of AC, which was not talked about while taking up the work.


When we talked to Bhubneshwar Unit he dropped the Service charges but insisted that he would not give the money receipt. When inquired why? he told that taxes would be extra.


When we contacted the Bhubaneshwar Unit, they told us that the Company was obliged to give the Money Receipt.


When I threatened to sue Hitachi Company for stealing Service Tax, the  Sambalpur remained silent.


Now again he has approached me with a fake money receipt without indicating taxes to the Govt.
