Hans Cinema is pretty close to my home. Located at Azadpur in Delhi, it is one of the oldest cinema halls in the city. However, the cinema hall has rarely gone any renovation since its inception, therefore, the movie-viewing experience here is poor.
First of all, the cinema hall is located in the Azadpur Market place, which means you have to encounter a lot of dust while reaching the hall. The entire structure of the cinema hall is in dilapidated condition with the paint on the walls completely gone and stained with tobacco-spits. The outside premises of the hall is usually littered with garbage, plastic bags and other unwanted items. The area surrounding the cinema hall does not smell good, as people throw away garbage in a nearby park.
The tickets here are cheap, however, the cinema hall lacks all the facilities. The picture quality is extremely poor and the movie is often interrupted by fading and brightening of the screen. The sound system is in poor condition and you cannot clearly make out the dialogues spoken in the movie. Most of the chairs are uncomfortable to sit-on, some even lack armrests. The queue is hardly managed at the ticket-counter. There is not adequate staff at the cinema hall either. There are no food courts available here and even on the outside, you would not find hygienic food at all.
Overall, you must avoid this cinema hall like plague. The location is poor, the condition of the hall dilapidated and the movie-viewing experience is horrible here.
