I was surprised at how incredibly predictable it was. Without giving spoilers, by the third chapter I already knew what the ending would be. And unfortunately when it all happened exactly as I'd expected, I found it was not only boring, but corny as well.


I also found the dialogue to be unrealistic and irritating. They're about to experience something imminently terrible, but someone still finds time to explain the science behind it, using long sentences and convoluted explanations. And no-one says "There's no time to explain! Just get us out of here!" No, we have to sit through all the explanations first.


Are all Asimov novels like this? I had expected a lot more
