Delusions overdose

Been reading too much about schizophrenics these day and just got lured into watching this movie for its plot:

The young boy just short of 18 years of age gets a punishment of house arrest from the jury. Why? He breaks the nose of his teacher for mentioning about his dead father. How? They both are in the car, young boy drives; drives badly and they meet an accident. He survives; his father dies. Is this relevant? No. But shown in movie. Okie ... he has got house arrest for 3 months. He stays inside, and starts watching  whats happening around his house with his binoculars. He reads papers and comes to know about a killer. Finds out that this killer is his neighbor. Is he right? or has he just gone mad being at home all day?

With delusion being theme, I was expecting a great thriller ...

The movie started with some kissass comedy by the hero's friend in the classroom. Then the boy gets house arrest. Then he is doing all funny things like stamping on sh*t, etc and what he does to mark the 100mts he is allowed to go (there is an detector clipped to his legs that would signal the police if he goes beyond). I was expecting the core of events to take place. The heroine becomes the hero's neighbor and hero does some romance. I was still expecting something to happen ... errrr not in the romance ... but to the story. Then comes the killer and some action and the credits in the end .. I was still expecting. The movie got over. Nothing happened.

But what was fantastic in the movie was cinematography. Most of the movie duration was almost what the guy saw with his binoculars. The camera showed every inch of the heroine in close-up but the killer at a distance :D The binoculars did not work properly then, may be.

Okie. Where is delusion? Does his mother not mention that he is becoming nuts being at home? Does his friend initially not react as if he has gone mad? That is delusion. Okie. Why does the killer kill? You have to assume something from the surgical instruments inside the killers home. Pssss ... there was nothing concrete in the movie for it to be gripping. All right, all elements for movie making are there and wired reasonably well. Its like the movie has got a brain but no heart.

Just little humor. Decent enough music. Usual romance. And some attempted thrilling scenes towards the end for the sake of being a thriller movie. Does not equal to even an average teen thriller. Two stars. And I would recommend this movie though ... you might thrash me if I dont recommend a movie where a hot heroine is shown in 25x zoom. People keep mentioning about the original old movie - The rear window, which I guess would be a worthy watch. Lucky that this one still remains on Mouthshut with 100% reco.

(And the title ... as always I am bad at it. Didnt mean anything except first line of the rev)

Tried the Mouthshut spell checker for the first time, it says 'Envyram' not in dictionary ... grrrr .... just a consolation, even 'Mouthshut' is not dictionary! ;-)
