Dhinchak Enterprise - Marathi Film (with Subs)

You must wonder what sort of a name is Dhinchak Enterprise ! Dhinchak for the non-Mumbaikar is simply great or amazing. So what is Dhinchak Enterprise ? Well it’s a Dhinchak movie !

DE is essentially the story of a guy we have all encountered at some time or the other in our lives. A well meaning, bumbling good at heart ras*als Vishal (Bhushan Pradhan) who lives with his mom and has a job as a door-to-door salesman where he also has a buddy Jignesh (Khurshid Lawyer).

Our hero is a Mr Rocket Singh of sorts in his company a.k.a Dhinchak Salesman until one of his past nemeses catches up with him in the form of Meera (Manava Naik) who has been his college mate. She has gone on to complete her MBA topped her class, come to join his organization as a sales trainee and by sheer luck is placed under him.

She is rude and supercilious to him on the first day due to an incident in college which he has long forgotten about. She however has the same image of him and threatens to leave the company rather than work with him. By the next morning however she has decided to stay and build her career and he has remembered the incident. He apologizes to her and all is forgiven. They soon become friends and romance blooms. Fate however deals Vishal an unfair hand as he is forced to quit his job because he has missed an important deal because he had to run a humanitarian errand.

He doesn’t give up and with Meera and Jignesh starts Dhinchak Enterprise a for-profit venture dedicated to humanity. The company has done exceedingly well in the first year but intuitively something is bothering Meera, something is just not right. Vishal ignores this and continues to grow the business and his love for her until one day when on an impulse he decides to do a field visit himself. What he discovers turns his life upside down.

What happens next? Well watch Dhinchak Enterprises and tell me your reaction. (After seeing the movie you are guaranteed to think very differently about a seemingly innocuous aspect of your life)

A few things that really impressed me about DE. For one it is not one of the run of the mill romances of Indian cinemas (never mind if the posters make you think it’s a rom-com of sorts). The story is well told by a tightly knot plot that keeps the narrative moving. The songs when they appear are not forced in; they blend with the mood of the viewer and add to the experience without being a distraction. All the songs are well written and well composed. Mika does a party number with pretty cool lyrics too.

The actors do a good job as they seem to have been given a creative leeway by the director and they do not let him down. Even though it’s his first commercial directorial venture, Nishant Sapkale manages to stamp the film with his auteur since this is a story that he has seen unfold in real life. A simply made film, a story well told and an engrossing watch. Do not miss this
