Dawaat-E-Ishq was a nice attempt in sending out a clear message of dowry system which is very much existing in India. It was an opportunity gone miss because of the weak direction and poor script. The only silver lining was stupendous performance by Aditya Roy Kapoor and Parineeta Chopra.

After rejecting multiple wedding proposals, Gullu(played by Parineeti Chopra) and her father( played by Anupam Kher) hatches a plan to con a dowry-seeking family.

Habib Faisal( Do Dooni Chaar, Ishaqzaade) does well mixing the spices of Hyderabad and Lucknow with genuine message of dowry at the background but drama fizzles out in the second half and doesn't give you a satisfaction and you walk out of the theater with mixed feelings. It is the script which could have salvaged the film from falling into pit. Sajid Wajid's music score was superb music . Cinematography is just about OK capturing the back drop of Hyderabad and Lucknow city. Art direction was poor. Dialogues are fine. Aditya Roy Kapur gives a commendable performance. He is sure to get things going. Parineeta Chopra gives a fabulous performance towards the end. Anupam Kher is dependable.

So, overall, a decent flick which could have been made better but looses the steam afterwards! Decent 2.5/5
