I would like to share my worst experience in dealing with CholaMS executives till top-level(GRO)

My parents were having a Group Health Insurance Policy of CholaMS Insurance Company. That policy had 2 components in it 1) Health Insurance & 2) Personal Accident Policy. At the time of renewal of policy this year, I inquired with them that if one can opt-out of a personal accident policy and continue with Health Insurance Policy only. To this, the executives of the Surat branch Mr. Umang & Mr. Krunal responded affirmatively. So, I wrote an application to the company to delete my Late husband's name from the policy and cancel the personal accident policy as we do not need it. And the application was accepted by the company's branch at Surat.

However, when the policy was renewed they collected the premium of both the policies from me and issued only Health Insurance Policy and the Personal accident Policy. When I objected regarding this in email, through call, and WhatsApp chat, they keep dilly-dallying the issue and withhold my personal accident policy till the free look-in period gets over. They kept giving excuses that their system is not working and were unable to provide the policy document copy of the same. After 1 month, when escalated the issue to their GRO the policy document was issued retrospectively. When I asked them why was policy document was not given to me in free look in period, they did not respond to my questions after various reminders. Then they told me that due to Covid they were unable to send me the policy document in look in the period. To this, I objected and asked them as to how the Health Insurance document was sent then in Covid time and why they were not able to send this document. Again, I did not receive any answer. Also, I asked that if they were able to send the Heath Insurance policy document via email then why did not they sent the other policy document via email. Again they remained unanswered.

Had they provided the policy document to me in free look in period, I would have cancelled both the policy as I had already stated this(to their executives in surat branch) at the time of renewal of policy that I would renew the policy if & only if I can opt-out of personal accident policy and can have Health insurance policy only. And since, they were knowing my conditions of policy renewal they withheld my personal accident policy so that I could remain under impression that only the Health Insurance policy is issued to me.

So friends beware of what you are getting into. One of my friends also had a very bad experience in dealing with CholaMS.

Their strategy is to tie up with the banks and hunt for gullible customers there. But when it comes to services everything needs to be done by the Insured person and their executives will not entertain you in the Bank and rather tell you to do it on your own, The Bank guys will not help either and they would shrug off as it is not their Banking related issue. And they would keep changing Banks for tie-ups and leave the customers in the lurch when it comes to services.

In case if anyone wants proof of the above claims then I have the documented proof of everything.
