How does one judge whether a Cordless phone is good? It has to be its perfomance and range.

Since my residence in 3-storied house, hence a cordless is essential. Moreover I opted for this for its caller ID feature. It was introduced at a time when the cheaper chinese Caller ID Cordless version were not yet introduced to the Indian market.

And my frank opinion is....... its an amateurish product. When one walks around with a caller ID cordless phone, one can temporarily mistake it to be a mobile phone. Comparing it to a mobile phone, its features are indeed amateurish, and does not worth any comparison.

The first problem I faced was the range. While the range was good, but at times in the midst of a conversation I tend to lose ''network'', and there is a button which I have to press to change channels for better reception. This gets frustrating. In the features specification it is mentioned that the cordless has several channels to choose from for better reception. It was mentioned like an advantage, but it is actually a weakeness!

The ringtones present in the phone are nothing to hum about. The caller ID feature is confusing, one cannot makeout whether it is a missed call or the last outgoing calls. Moreover since the time is not displayed, hence one cannot find out the time of the missed call.

My Beetel Cordless caller ID phone has completed about a year, and it started to show problems with its button. Whenever I receive a call, it refused to accept the call thus I missed many calls for this ridiculous problem.

I am glad I have discarded the phone for a chinese version of the Caller ID cordless-corded package phone(Eurotel). You can see the details of this phone from

Eurotel phone are far superior and has a band of 900MHz. It has features similar to a mobile, and also an intercom feature between the corded and cordless. Moreover it costs around Rs.1200, and I was lucky to get a n exchange deal with the beetel phone.

And let me mention that earlier I had SONY cordless phone which I had discarded to opt for the caller ID feature of this Beetel Phone.

Hence comparing with SONY or Eurotel, BEETEL is nowhere near their standard.
