The spectacular global success of Bollywood is admired by one and all.Its greatness lies in weaving engaging stories around pulsating music.Very often, the music overshadows the story. This was the case with Mahesh Bhatt's 1990 classic 'Aashiqui'.This simple film told the story of a musically inclined boy Rahul.Rahul saves an orphan Anu from the clutches of her tormentors. With his encouragement Anu becomes a successful model. It is now Rahul's turn to make it big.The lovers unite in the end.Indeed, the stars of the film were the music director duo Nadeem-Shravan.Using simple melodies and robust instrumentation Nadeem-Shravan created a score that turned around the indian music industry. The concept of music rights was born.People all over the country were humming "Sanson Ki Zaroorat","Main Duniya Bhoola Doonga","Mere Dil Tere Liye" and of course "Ab Tere Bin Ji Lenge Hum/Zeher Zindagi Ka Pee Lenge Hum"N-S became instant hot properties as did singer Kumar Sanu who rendered most of the songs. The question is why you should see this movie?Well here is a film where storyline and music are separate and distinct. The fluidity of one scarcely interferes with the efficacy of the other.IIn simple words its paisa vasool, value for money. So,what are you waiting for!
