I agree with you on the role of banking ombudsman. My experience with banking ombudsman has been: no action, no acknowledgment OR respond after several months that the complaint made is not covered in the banking ombudsman scheme OR ask you after several months to submit complaint in a prescrib...ed format along with copies of all correspondence with the bank. Hence the next option available is to complain against the bank AS WELL AS the banking ombudsman to: The Additional Secretary, Banking Ministry of Finance, Economic Operations Department (Banking) Room 2-B, Jeevandeep Building, Sansad Marg, NEW DELHI 110001 This should help. But if this does not help, then send complaint to Minister of Finance.Read More

Never give user id and password in a page opened through a link in an incoming mail. Transact ONLY on the bank's website and ensure it is a secure page beginning with https, NOT http.

What a childish attutude of the Hr personnel!! Surely they lack basic common snnse but the position they hold and the fact that 1000's of persons are applying for jobs make them arrogant. I have also had experience with HR personnel in large companies who are arrogant, inconsiderate, careless, least... concerned about punctuality. Fix an appointment but insist on confirming the appointment, then are not available on phone / mobile so as to confirm the appointment. If you decide to go and meet them at the appointed time then very casually they cancel or postpone the appointment as they are 'VERY BUSY'!!!!!! Gives us a lesson to be extra careful and cross check after having asked the bank to cancel a card. As regards banking ombudsman, my experience is that it takes SEVERAL months to get response.
