It is the glass house which is the venue for the flower show. The flower show is held twice a year on Republic Day and Independence Day.

This years Independence day flower show was inaguarated on 7th August 2009 and will go on till Independence day - 15th August. This year's flower show has special attractions for children. As you enter the glass house, you have to undergo the mandatory security check, which is done half-heartedly by the bored looking policemen. At the entrance is a large area with fishes and teddy bears made in flowers. Just behind it is a cactus display surrounded by petunias and other colourful flower plants. And then comes, the main attraction of the show - the dinosaurs. This years show seems to have been planned keeping kids in mind. The dinosaur featured is the Stegosaurus, made entirely using flowers. The dinosaur also has glowing eyes and growls at visitors occasionally.

Surrounding the central displays are thousands of flowers of different types, sizes and colours. These include varieties of roses, elephants, deer and even an air show made entirely from flowers.

The flower show offers a riot of colours. It is a joy watching bees hovering from one plant to another. The various colourful flowers are a visual treat and you feel overjoyed to spend some time in this environment.

Outside the glass house are various stalls where you can buy flowering plants, manure, seeds and a variety of handicrafts. There are also number of stalls offering various types of eatables. After your eyes are sated watching the flowers, you can end the visit by filling your stomach.

Overall, the flower show is something all Bangaloreans or visitors to Bangalore need to see once. It is money and time worth spending. So if you are in Bangalore, make sure you go to Lalbagh and see the show and have a pleasant time.
