RGV's best... the movie brought me back to reviewing movies on MS after 4 years; had moved onto my own blog in the meantime! And you are right: this is an out-and-out adult movie. Especially that maarmic scene of the child crying beside his mother: it literally gets to you.

I can tell you the audience reaction: which should convince you to watch it. From the first attack scene, there was stunned silence. The rapture of the audience could be gaged from the first counter-attack by Indian Police, at which the entire audience burst out in applause. Or from the thundero...Read more

For of your kind information, this advertisement was rated as the best advertisement campaign of 2007 almost unanimously by the business community; brand recall scores were phenomenal and customerr feedback was also top-notch. And besides, the Airtel experience was different 5 years ago as compared ...to now; so cannot carry it to the current day. It has been losing for 11 quarters straight... anyway, to each his own!Read More

Common Wealth or Common Loot Maar Game?

Sep 23, 2010 08:44 PM

CWG 2010 Text of letter to editor TOI We, as a people, are lackadaisical and corrupt. How else can corruption thrive? Corruption needs 2 players: a corrupt person, and a person who gives in to corruption. There is corruption in India because we - you and me - give in to it. So why blame them? Jus...t look in the mirror and say ''I deserve it''. Honestly perhaps these commonwealth games had better be cancelled, and India's name maligned across the world, because you and I both deserve it. Maybe the Indian psyche needs a kick in both the teeth and the but(t) to wake up to reality! Remember that these corrupt people come from within our society. We are to blame. Dont believe me? Think back: have you never participated in engendering corruption? Have you never given 10 bucks to a traffic cop? 1000 Bucks for your licence? 5000 for your passport? Fake rent receipts and donation receipts for your IT return? Favoured a non-deserving candidate over someone who is better just because of the under-performers' connections? Given 100000 for a prime job? Broken red lights as a habit on traffic signals? Habitually arriving late to office? Given 50 bucks to goverment officials just to meet the manager? Given cash under-the-table in property deals? Face this, accept this: we, as a people, are corrupt. Unless we correct our own habit, no amount of policing can control corruption. Corruption is endemic to the Indian scenario because we have made it so. I sincerely do hope that CWG 2010 fails miserably and we become a pariah in the eyes of the world. That would be acceptable if the jolt can make an impact on us. It would really be worth losing any chance of hosting any international event for the foreseeable future if that can lead to positive gains to us in other fields. It is with considerable pain that I am stating this: I have been noting with deep chagrin that on every case of corruption, there is a complete absence of a national dialogue or awareness. People in the real Read More

I wont rate this review, since for the first time in our association I disagree... Yes, there were holes - even a few you have not pointed out - but that is beside the point. The movie was short, and enjoyable, the gaffs notwithstanding. You rated it right at 2 stars, I would have given 2.5 mysel...f, but with a yes rating. It is worth seeing just for the underwater scenes of the sharks, the coral life and the aquatic life! It looks awesome on a huge screen - it beats discovery's TV scenes hand down!Read More

Seems almost pointless to say it, since it is so obvious. However, it has to be said just to underscore the painfully obvious: Great review! (This is another way of circumventing the ten word rule albeit in an irritatingly circuitous fashion!)

Having seen the movie, i can honestly you made it replay in my mind. The movie is all you say and more. The best part is that despite the topic being so gruesome, the treatment is such that you are kept in emotional touch with the players and cry and laugh with them. A powerfull movie, it stays with... you a very long time! VishalRead More

Sorry for the rating, which was because the writeup did not do justice to the book. Being a hailey fan myself i have read this book. While you have touched a few good points, it left a lot to be desired for. Vishal

Excellent as usual fenil! The movie was all you said and more. The passion that went into Aamir's role, his devotion was a treat to watch. That is why all his movies are in a class of their own!

Sorry for the rating, but you could have written more about how to choose a mobile phone. This write-up, while it is interesting, does not tell much too much about choosing a phone
