Hi Sujay., That was a neat article ... you have definitely followed up on my comments in 'burningdesire' review. A few words of mine. Professionalism is a new concept in the Indian Industry, addicted to the likes of the bajajs, ambanis, godrejs, birlas and ofcourse the tatas. Hence the issue o...f professionalism only with Bharti is quite surprising. Secondly, recently I interacted with a very senior person in Bharti Enterprises and i was surprised that he wasnt a guy fom the mittal family. He said that though the mittals controlled the stakes, a lot of flexibility was provided to the top brass in each sector. though this rights of the manager were not quantified, but i do get to understand that freedom to take decision is there in the company. As far as expertise is considered, can you tell me of one player who has expertise in Telecom. BPL, Tata ?? ... they were telephome instrument manufacturers and then moved on to cellular and basic services with expertise from AT&T.. the same goes with Reliance who have roped in Qualcomm, an expert in CDMA.. the future technology in Cellular. Hence I would say that writing off bharti on the counts of professionalism and expertise is wrong. If there is financial irregularities, yes, then the issue should be avoided. I do not want to comment about the long term but on a short term (less than 2 week holding) basis, the stock is good because of the hype and the expectation form the market and hence will open at more than the floor price. I have studied 20 Indian Stocks and they all have opened at more than 20% their floor price which was sustained in the short term before the analysts adjusted to the fundamentals. Hi., I shoul admit that i am no huge follower of Stock Market. But do consider my arguments before writing off Bharti 1. Bharti will have the first mover advantage over other Telecom gaints 2. The other telecom companies (Reliance, Tata etc.) do not have their core competence in telecom., a...nd hence will not have a huge advantage when conducting business.. as far as deep pockets go, with investors like Singtel willing to pump $1 billion, bharti does have deep pockets 3. The calculation of the stock price is done on the future projections of revenue (Sujay., i think u will be able to explain this better!!). With covnvergence happening in another 5 years, the telecom service provider will be the one point connection for telephone, net and TV.
