Aditi: This new version is possibly better than the previous one, which had to use the technology available at that time. BD: The original 'King Kong' was indeed released in 1933. Thanx for the comments, folks!

Arguably the most awaited movie of the year, this is a re-make of the original which hit the screens more than 70 years ago! The character has managed to live in public memory for so long and hence, it has got to be special. Also, Peter Jackson returns after his epic trilogy of Lord of the Rings...Read more

Reese Witherspoon has been on a roll since Legally Blonde. But even while experimenting with movies like Vanity Fair, it seems like she has to survive on a staple diet of 'romcoms'. What do you say about a romantic comedy? It is an unpatented formula that hardly fails. Here, surprisingly, it'...Read more

This under-publicised, small movie rings a bell because of the title. It reminds you of the movie that rocked the world in the 70s. Comparisons are but natural; so the challenge is to beat expectations. The movie is based on a true story that happened in Germany. A young girl apparently affec...Read more

Good to see your comments. Haven't watched 'The Incredibles' or 'Corpse Bride'. Want to catch the former, but probably not the latter since I'm not really a lover of animation. Cheers, Venkat

Tim Burton is equally known for telling tales of fantasy as also for painting pretty pictures, using the screen like a painter's canvas. While the latter itself is reason enough to pay a visit to the cinema, here we have his favourite Johnny Depp too. Depp himself has been on a roll of late (Pir...Read more

Anil Kapoor has long vacated the top bracket in the film industry, but he continues to churn out varied movies at a steady pace. This time around, he strikes a new combination with Ram Gopal Varma. When you think a movie is hyped like none before, it is only followed by another which erases the previous one from memory. This is one such movie, talked about for everything from Aamir Khan's re-appearance on celluloid to the highly publicised exit of Aishwarya Rai. The one question on every l...Read more

This controversial movie took a long time to get past various hurdles and make it to the theatres, only to be barred from screening within a few days. That only confirmed the jinx for Anurag Kashyap (co-writer of Satya) whose directorial debut, Paanch never came out of the cans. Based on a bo...Read more

The first movie that actually had the two Bachchans on board, with the bigger one directed by wacko Ram Gopal Varma for the first time is enough to set up expectations. Added to that is the open admission that it is inspired by one of the highly acclaimed movies of all time. The basic story i...Read more
