test drove the verna diesel.. share the views of racing online.. turbo kicks in quite late.. and ti takes off.. the suspension was quite hard withe ven 3 people in the rear seat. cornering ablility at speeds was suspect.. also delivery of power was not smooth.. kind of jerky acceleration (when teh t...urbo kicks in). for those who mention this is not supposed to be a sports car.. it looks like thats what hundai tried to make this out to be.. a sports sedan.. since the power of 106 hp for a 1.5 liter diesel engine is way above the reach of any other diesel engine technology.. Max. power at 5000 rpm.. now i think we know where the confusion lies! you seem to have a petrol indica!. yes, the petrol indica should be able to achieve that.. but diesel.. i still have my doubts..maybe an accidental over bored engine to run at 5000 rpm. well torque is important as well for ...acceleration.yes eventually its the power at the correct speed. but you cant have a very steep curve. the engine power of 52 HP is too low to get 165 kph.. am sure the diesel engine redlines at much lower speeds!.Read More

V2 LXI Petrol: 10 headaches in every 3 months

We have had problems with this service center (wasan). They just dont care, half the time they dont have the spares. They send fuel injection equipment to OEM and it comes back only after a week etc. In one instance, we found our fuel injectors exchanged!. on complaining, we got our new injectors ba...ck. looks like some other cars parts got exchanged with ours (deliberately or not, we dont know). maybe you could try other sevice centers like Balaji Thane, Fortune cars vashi. We found Balaji to be more co-operative. Some spares are nearly as expensive as the Honda city spares. And i was thinking indica spares are cheaper. its best to go in for a basic version of indica (with least accessories such as power steering). Read More

i expect following response from our friend If I give an immediate answer to ur comment..I’ll be thrown onto negative side. Such kinda question to a mechanical engineer will definetely get his prestige down. me never got a technical reply from him yet. so may not be worth the wait. there are... many other people from whom you can get a better response. there are some who have had a bad experience. their views would be better fyi. toyota has made some small changes now with customer feedback. understand innova now comes with bridgestone tyres, since earlier goodyear were not good enough. also some other changes incorporated based on customer feedback survey.Read More

if driving is @ 30km per day. petrol is muhc better. its only psychological in this case to go in for diesel. the petrol 2 liter engine of the innova is 100 kw. = 136 h.p. and not 100 h.p. so there it comes close to the other large petrol cars. i agree that the car dealers are unscrupulousl. ...will do anything to sell a car. the quality of material on car magazies ahs deteriorated a lot. the stuff they write. the mistakes they make on power/ displacement are terrible. recently in an auto magazine comparing a corolla with civic. civic weight was mentioned as 1200 kgs. while corolla weight was mentioned as 1600 kgs.. thats a mistage on the corolla.. and readers can get mislead.. so on and so forth.. people looking for mileage can now look at the wagon r lpg.. initial cost, fuel cost , value for money.. comfort and dimensions are all great..
