Between Mr.Bajaj and Mr.Gustav, the school was without a principal for 6 months. Parents in 11th and 12th grades felt the effects of this. Academics was seriously effected and students were put under a lot of stress because things were not rolling as usual due to uncertainty. It is quite unbelievabl...e that a school that advertises itself as world class was unable to hire a principal in the summer break to ensure that they had a head for the new academic year. Even after Mr.Gustav was appointed it took him 6 months to understand the system and start the ball rolling. This is expected whenever there is a change in administration and more so when the principal is not familiar with the Indian school system. So the school board should have been more organized and proactive about making sure the school had a principal. You must have been very lucky. The opportunities that I was promised were not delivered. My kids and I are struggling with the challenges posed by the system. I have reached a point where I do not even care about extra curriculars - I get a much better deal when I enroll my kids in outside classes. All I care about is academics and discipline. I send my kid to school to learn and grow in a positive environment. I am sorry to say Oakridge does not provide that.Read More

Making education stress free is good but making education education free is not. Making it stress free works very well for the over burdened teachers. They do not have to correct homework or give feedback. There has to be some discipline in the way students and teachers interact. When teachers give ...hw but forget to ask for it and some might ask for it but then not correct it - it creates a sense of indiscipline in the student body.Read More

I have to seriously disagree with you about the school helping your child grow as an all rounder. As many other posters have also mentioned, quality of extra curricular activities and time spent on them at school is not what they claim. If a student does well in sports or music it is because they ar...e taking extra classes outside of school. No way that the school can nurture any interest in extra curriculars. In younger grades, activity teachers are unable to control the class a) because of the student numbers in each class b) because of rampant indiscipline. If a teacher cannot control the class, how can they impart any knowledge? Extra curriculars at Oakridge is a sham!Read More

'They have good placements but that doesn't reflect the school but rather it's students.' - Students who get placed in good schools have been able to do so purely because they put in a lot of effort on their own. School makes it very hard for a student to be sincere and organized. Classes ar...e not conducted properly even for 11th and 12th - there is gross indiscipline in academics and behaviour. Even if a kid wants to do well, what can they do if teachers are not given time to conduct classes. Academics should be top priority but it is not. Classes for higher grades are cancelled because other activities are planned at that time. A lot of time is lost in 11th grade and then they try to hurry and finish the portion in 12th grade, doing a half-assed job of it, putting enormous stress on the students.Read More

A high fee structure coupled with excellent quality education will hurt less. What kills parents is exorbitant fees and what they get for that is indiscipline and poor academic quality. Not worth it!

Buses leaving and arriving late is because of overcrowding the school. Majority of the students commute in their own vehicles. This clogs up the main road outside the school at 8:00-8:20am and 3:10-3:45pm. As a result buses are not able to reach school gates on time in the morning and also not able ...to leave on time in the evening. Uncontrolled expansion of the school without providing facilities to handle this load is the cause. Apart from the inconvenience to drop off and pickup your child, think about how this is inconveniencing the general public who travel on this road at those times. Read More

This is a fairly long review with thoughts formulated over several years. My children study at Oakridge and I have personal experience with primary, middle and senior schools and with the different curricula at the school. If I were to sum up my review in two words it would have to be'Undisci...Read more
