Reviewed Saroja Movie

Sep 09, 2008 04:42 PM 2027 Views

After his path breaking Chennai28, Venkat prabhu is back with a thriller-Saroja.Does it live upto its expectations? The answer for me is NO.The movie mixes seriousness and fun and the cocktail is undigestable. There are several unnecessary scenes in the movie, like the one in which director himse...Read more

Hi Anand, I liked ur review man.I also think the movie was crap. And what u said about kamal is true.He thinks that he is hyper intelligent and purposefully hurts religious sentiments(hindus in this movie)just to show that he thinks this is stupidity. There are many examples-the scene where his son i...s performing the last rites of kamal and vishnu idol.In an old movie-sigappu rogakkal, this idiot tried the same thing-he asks a pavement idol seller-wats the price of this god and mocks by saying this god comes cheaply. And what i find is that he makes fun only of hinduism and hindu gods.He doesnt have the balls to mock at other religions. If he is an atheist why is he mocking at people who believe in god.Read More

ur point is completely correct.I appreciate ur passion for movies..Please explain why the tamil audience are making an utter crap movie like thiruppachi or sivakasi a hit?And why are they shunning a class movie like anbe sivam or iruvar? If a movie is a flop it means the audience didnt accept it.Why?... May be u like both mass and class movies. If everyone were like u,these movies wudnt have flopped. Also please note the time when anbe sivam and iruvar were released. Now,u have films like mozhi,paruthiveeran...etc whose themes are offbeat and still gets acceptance. But at that time that was not the norm. And about malayalam movies,I admit that they have become crap now,but still they make class movies like kadha parayumbol and udayananu tharam, which tamil film makers copy and make it as kuselan and vellithira? Why is there so much plagarism? U urself will drive in chennai heat to watch kuselan and write a good review about it. They remade Manichitrathazhu as chandramukhi, chintavishtayaya shyamala as chidambarathil appasamy, kireedom as kreedom, thommanum makkalum as maja, nadodikkatu as some tamil movie way back, bharatham as another crap tamil movie starring karthik, thalavattom as another crap starring prabhu,in hariharnagar as mgr nagaril. Many of the scenes and ideas from chandramukhi and muthu were copied from malayalam films like thenmavin kombatthu and aaram thampuran. They do it without even acknowledging the original source. In the chandramukhi 600day/100 day function not even one word was spoken about manichitrathazhu. Why so cheapness? Even now, they are remaking chotta mumbai,hallo,classmates..etc.The list goes on.Have u seen one malayalam cinema which is a remake of a tamil movie? I rate very highlt Matrix-I.As for the rest, it was above my head,so no comments. Harry potter series was also good. i didnt like batman, superman and spiderman3. I liked padayappa very much. thanx for ur comments..but let me tell u this::the number of roles which kamal hassan has played and which mohanlal can play are far more than the number of roles that mohanlal has played and kamal cud have played.. mohanlal is natural, whereas kamal is the perfect dramatic.and tamilians like it whe...n everything is shown explicitly and tats why kamal is a hit... u can see that kamalhassan is acting, but u can ’’feel’’ the emotions expressed by mohanlal..u can stand up and clap and appreciate kamal for acting so wonderfully, whereas for mohanlal u can sit awestruck and wonder how he has done it!!!thats where mohanlal succeeds..and as for comparison,i feel comparison is gud for finding out who is the best..otherwise how do u xplain national awards??Read More
