Looks like a very consistent trend in OYO ... they did exactly the same to my old parents who were booked in a particular property. I should have read the reviews first before paying in full ...

Exactly the same issue has happened with me.. my aged parents (71 and 67 respectively) were supposed to stay in a OYO hotel. After an advance payment and booking confirmation, the manager refused to let them in. They are still in Delhi for a spiritual workshop. I would post a review shortly on the w...hole incident.. The hotel address was 69 Sirish Road. And I didn't even receive any coupon etc. - paid the full price. This was probably the last time I ever booked OYO..Read More

Surprising to see that without attending a single Shivir or a proper research how someone hasn't hesitated writing a wrong and misleading review. here are the auditable facts for a balanced view: ShivYog Shivirs are not entertainment platforms. Also, they aren't aimed at pseudo-intellectuals. The...re is a thing called 'informed decision', and 'free will'. This is wrong to try and rate Shivyog events using parameters of host/ cast/ plot/ audience.. 1) The person writing such posts (such as one here) aren't even aware that not a single penny out of such Shivirs go to ShivYog. The organizers decide the fee and 100% of collected funds are spent for the social and economic betterment of the poor, after deducting the taxes that go to Govt.. Only the the materials being sold from the shop go to Ashram, and I don't see what is wrong with that. What is the basis of the notion that an Indian Saint must be poor? 2) In every Shivir substantial no. of seats are kept free. 3) Moreover, these are supposed to be a spiritual shivir and not meant for 'soap opera' audience. Nobody is forcing anyone to join. Collected amount of money is being spent in organic farming, education, free food and shelter for street kids ... all the stuff is up for anyone to see first hand and experience. On one hand the Govt. of the US and the medical community of North America is felicitating him for propogating the knowledge, and on other people like 'bhavz' are busy badmouthing their own flagbearers of ancient wisdom.Read More

Induscraft - owner Mukesh Jain

Positive experience with Induscraft Hi. I have gone through this post before ordering from Induscraft and hence came back to share my own perspectives/ experience. This is what I've recently experienced: I would try to provide my balanced feedback.. - I ordered the items on 30th Nov. 2012 and go...t it delivered on 15th Jan 2013, through Gati Cargo. I know the time is bit longer but I have no issues, because Induscraft conveyed that expected time upfront. - The product quality (six-seater chairs + Table) is excellent. I have done plenty of search on the internet and honestly, I am quite happy with the craftsmanship and overall quality with that price. I do not expect solid Seesam wood products at that price everywhere. - Communication was good - I was kept informed via email on each step. I would say I have received products as I had ordered. Gati cargo was excellent.. including handling/ communication and tracking. As a consumer, I would definitely like to see these arrive bit fast. But I also realize these are custom made/ polished wood products. Personally speaking, I would like to give a reasonable time esp. when Induscraft has conveyed upfront.. as long as that is met, I'd be happy. I would like to order some more items from Induscraft. Overall my experience has been good. I do have empathy with the previous posters, however in my experience service levels have improved and that would always be a good thing! I'd say please set the expectations upfront and ask questions until you are satisfied, before ordering online products of this nature ... that avoids any issues later. This worked for me. Have a great time ahead!Read More

At Indian Embassy I received a colourful reception.. the person who was 'supposed' to work on my case called me ahead of line and said I would receive it the same day, but I had to come again at 3 pm (had asked VFS to send me in the morning to convey just this) - I guess he needed training on when a...nd how to use phones and emails. He said with a wink that "concerned RPO is a friend of mine and if I need anything, I should consult him" (to which I folded my hand and said God bless me). At this point things were disgusting and I didn't say a word - there was no use because the whole system in Toronto Indian Embassy is used to it. Sitting whole day I made an estimate on how things run here.. people line up for various kinds of 'urgent' visas at embassy (rest is managed by VFS). They open counters b/w 8-11 am for accepting forms and b/w 3-4 pm for providing passport with documents. I wondered how people in Indian Embassy are accustomed to work as if they are running small time Pan-bidi shops in a laid back atmosphere.. I was standing in Queue for over an hour, and the security guard politely told I should remind them once and be seated, because they must have forgotten... anyhow I waited, obtained my papers and left. I left wondering how these guys enjoy holidays offered by both Canadian and Indian Govt's., they don't seem to have empathy for their own countrymen and at the least they don't even know how to get their own job done properly. I have sent multiple emails to embassy and called - no one bothered to pick up the phone once/ or reply to emails. I didn't know if they believed they were still in the Bronze age! Most painful was the apathy. I requested for a visit to the counsel, and was denied. I do not know why we can't replace the white elephant called Embassy - being in IT I know how to get machines do the job faster, more efficiently and in a more 'human' way! I sincerely believe things should change noRead More

Hi and wishing you all Happy Holidays! I felt I should post an update - it has been one of the most amazing experience of my life -I wonder how our Indian Govt. systems are running. After I have reviewed it here, I've received a note from VFS stating they would look into it on an urgent bas...is. However since I had received an ultimatum from my organization and my job was at stake, I decided to do whatever I could. I finally had to take the help from a friend of mine whose father was in Indian Police Services (I didn't know this earlier). Using the internal links I finally got the number of the concerned IPS offices at my Regional passport office... I literally appealed him saying that I am on the verge of losing my job for a piece of paper. Weeks later I was told that they have sent the document to Embassy. It required hell lot of coordination and follow ups b/w various parties.. from this point onwards I have received full support from VFS in terms of information/ arranging appointment for me with embassy. When my emails/ phone to the concerned IPS officer became a routine affair almost on each alternate day, I was assured that they would email me the document instead using which I can visit the embassy and demand my paper. They finally sent that to me ... and guess what - it was the same paper (form) that I've submitted while applying for the passport. Someone had just scanned it and stamped on it saying they do not have any objections for releasing the Police Clearance! So much for a scanned document - I wonder whether these guys were laying eggs on it before! pardon my language, but I got an opportunity to see some of the internal mechanisms of how the whole system runs. People like you and me shed our sweat and blood to earn for our families, and pay 30-40% in taxes (plus a host of surcharges/ Indirect taxes) - here is how our Tax money and resources are used! (Continued in the next post)..Read More

Update: Briefly after I have emailed VFS (Mr. Zubin), I have received a call and response from VFS Canada (stating they are looking into it). @emptor: Thanks a ton for your help! @manojkhare: I totally agree. This is interesting to note what our embassies are doing. Indian Consulate at Tor...onto never picked up my phone in last 4-5 months/ never bothered to reply to several of my emails. I wonder why do we even need them - for ceremonial reasons? Sad state of affairs - all this infrastructure is built from tax money from common people like you and me.Read More

These guys are really good at ''Opening'' of account. You would be surprised to see there is no listed option on how to ''close'' an account. I have been following up with them for last 1 month (NRI Account) - they don't even bothered to respond once. Really fed up - SBI is a lot better!
