Thanks for the comment - I also agree with this, but this was a review written in 2005 :-), around the time of MHN and much before OSO

Early eighties saw certain glimpses of Lataji’s greatness with the likes of Nindiya se Jaagi Bahaar and Sun sahibaan sun. The greatness of the greatest singer of India continued through highs and lows. Songs like Zee hale-e-mushkin, Pardesiyaa, Morni baga ma and Jiya jale kept the diva in the limeli...ght. There were lots of glimpses of her versatility and the range. It was sheer magic in Yara sili sili, while the success of the songs in Maine Pyraa Kiya and Hum Aapke Hain Kaun proved how her voice still could give all the yongsters a run for their money. Of course, every day has the same cycle and every great person has the similar career graph. But with a star like Lataji, the day continues. We wish her that her after noon goes on and on, without entering the evening. Read More

Afternoon (1980 and onwards) Tooti hui choodiyon se jodun mein kalayee mein, Pichhli gali mein jaane, kyaa chhod aayee mein, Beeti hui galiyon se, phir se guzarnaa Yara sili sili…. After the activities of noon, comes a relatively mild afternoon. Its that part of the day, which reminds us of... the power of noon at certain times, while makes us nostalgic at other moments. The day is still active and still live, yet something is missing. A lot that we took for granted at noon, comes with an effort now…. Yet we expect the afternoon to be as glamorous as the noon, but get disappointed when it is not the case. Read More

Enough has been written and said about Lata Mangeshkar’s career, work, facts and controversies. In this review, rather than focusing on these aspects, I intend to write my heart out. Indeed, Lata Mangeshkar’s career(or rather the voice) can be compared with a bright and sunny day… Morning(...Read more

Good review. In terms of performance how would you rate the other cars in the same segment? (Civic for example)

Its very rare for me to watch a movie during its first week. Normally I read enough reviews of the movie, check with people who have seen it, find out how many stars are there on MS etc etc before I actually buy the tickets. Well… it was a different situation this time. A friend of mine plann...Read more

I somehow neither liked Rajesh Khanna nor Manmohan Desai. But you review was an interesting one on a typical masala movie. Keep writing.

Nice Review. This film had the typical Raj Kapoor touch.

Great review. But I still miss the competition that we saw in eighties or early nineties.... Bjorg-Connors-Mckenro Lendle-Willander-Edberg-Becker Sampras-Agassi-Courier and somewhat faded Becker and Edberg or even in ladies.. Welcome to MS. It was a very good choice, but we are supposed to comment and rate not merely on the choices, but also on the quality of review. A few words about the songs will help. However, great first attempt :-)

Definitely not a useful review. Essentially you are suggesting people to default on their credit card payments. I see three basic pitfalls in this. 1. At the lowest risk level, the person's credit history goes for a toss. Next time he applies for a home loan/ vehicle loan, banks won't honour hi...m. 2. The mental stress of the recovery agents may not be easy to bear. There are several cases of suicide at your stage - 4. 3. By promoting this, we are actually talking about having a lot of defaulters, which is not good for anyone. Look at what is happening in the global economy today that started with a few defaulters on the loan. Read More

Hi, Its nice to see people still enjoying classics - I definitely do. But your review had nothing of your own, I mean your opinion, feedback, analysis etc. It was just a gist of the story. Keep writing Swaraj

Hi, An itreresting review. I thought of giving SU/ NU as it was not exactly on the stated topic, but the way you went about explaining and the disclaimer in the beginning - it was a pretty good attempt.\ Thanks

Thanks Shalu. I am also a big fan of Agatha Christie. But I always found her three novels: This one, Roger Ackroyd and Orient Express to be on a separate league altogether.

Hi Sujata, Nice to see your comments. Missed in my last review :-) Well... trying to be regular on MS now days. Its the first time in ages that I wrote two revies in a month. Slowly getting into the groove again. Well... regarding the Hindi Movie, its Gumnaam. But its a very cheap adaptatio...n of the novel and has completely ruined the concept. For example, in the novel, its clear that nobody could have hidden on the island. But in the movie, there are enough and more places to hide. So I did not understand why the murder had to be one of the people staying in the house in the movie. It could be anybody!!Read More

My my... what a beautiful review.... and after such a review, can I hold back my comments even if I want to? Thanks for making me to re-log into the MS page... a thing that I have not dome for ages. Coming to the review - wonderful as usual... I could almost sense the excitement in your wr...iting. Hero has been an iconic movie for me, with which a lot of my childhood memories are attached. The songs of Her (of course, with other hits of that time like Tohfa, Sharabi etc) take me back in time to those days where we did not have to worry about what does the next day hold for us and away from the gruelling rat race. I loved this review, as much as I loved the movie and the music. Thanks for the feeling of nostalgia :-)Read More
