at my house, we have two WAPs running. my DI524, and a friend's WRT54G. Though one is enough, we use two to have better network coverage in different parts of house. I personally never had problem in sharing internet connection between upto 9-10 computers on one WLAN.

^^ How to do all that is very well explained in your WAP's manual. If you nee help on terminology, or concepts, I'll be happy to help. Now, the internet connection should be configured in WAP. that will depend upon the exact type of connection you have. WAP will provide all sort of options for t...his. Which one you should use is decided by your ISP. rest assured, once you have successfully connected WAP to internet, all computers on W-LAN would be able to access net without much fuss! Wireless LAN is not really high performance method of connecting multiple computers together, though the performance is more than adequate for sharing internet connection between wireless stations. If you have desktops, or otherwise, you need higher speeds of transfer between LAN computers, its best to connect them through wire.Read More

@get2rohansl You can ofcourse connect any number of computers, creating a local network, but the equipment you will use will depend upon the performance you require from network. As you say you need a wireless network, I assume you already have a wireless access point (WAP). there are two b...asic steps to setting up your WAP. first, configure your lan. This would require you to choose a lan address for your WAP and your local computers.the easiest way is turning DHCP on on your WAP, and on computers, leave ip settinggs to automatic/dhcp. Second is wireless n/w security. Best option in today's routers is WPA2. easiest option is WPA2-PSK. PSK stands for Preshared Key. so you will need to make up a long password and feed it to WAP, and all computers(Wless Network adapter->Properties) After doing this, all your computers should be able to ping each other, as well as the WAP.Read More

Hey suman. Some sincere advice from a xeta user 1. DONT BUY GLE unless u have plans to use it as taxi GLE does not come with much features, and hence is not the one with the most demand in the market. Trust me.. buy atleast a GLS. Even if u have to wait and save a bit more. U will not ...repent this decision. 2. DONT BUY FROM DELHI U live in faridabad, and u r buying from delhi.. I hope u know both vehicle prices and registration costs are lower in faridabad (haryana) 3. I hope u haven't given any advance amount to the dealer. Even if u have, like i said above.. get it bak. Loans do not come with so many hassles. Perhaps dealer is just delaying ur purchase bcoz he doesn't have ur requested model in stock. Dont worry abt discounts... there is always one or other offer on purchases.. e.g. when I purchased my GLG last year, in navratras, I got free insurance. After navratras, they stopped giving free insurance, and started discounts on car (when GV* models were launched) I would also like to point out here that cars are a little cheaper towards the end of year.. so plan accordigly You hav any Qs.. put em here.. i'll try to answer as much as I canRead More

@MumAvi Well.. I think 65ps is not the power you have ever extracted from your 1.2 L engine yet. It just means that max engine's o/p power is 65ps and that is at rpm above 5000. While you are driving normally, the actual power you derive out of your engine is much less! What actually mat...ters is the torque! Look at the differences in torque curve, because that actually governs the accleration you get while driving. For 1.4L, its 12.4 kgm, and for 1.2L its 10.2 kgm (as on the site). Assuming that the curves are proportional, thats a difference of roughly 18%. So.. this difference of torque is what will decide the difference in pickup! That if gearboxes are identical, which I dont think are! Typically lower gears would be modified for better take-off at low speeds.Read More

BTW.. I dont know how many would find it amusing.... configure your DI524 to allow a mac address and specify an IP for that mac. Now, assign two computers same mac address and connect them to local network (router) either through wire or without wire... u will see that both computers are assig...ned same IP addresses successfully!! :) enjoyRead More

@arifali good that you think this router is serving your purpose BTW.. mac address based ip config provides you no security at all. Use it to tell which computer is alloted which ip. Not for security. for security, (you might want to do what I did) I wrote a small program which generate ran...dom numbers and prints to a file. I use these numbers as encryption keys. all computers which connect to my router connect using one of my keys (they have to be distributed) Thats good enough for a small home network! I have configured router to assign ip based upon mac address. This way, the ip assigned to all computers remain psuedo-static.. i.e. it doesn't change everytime they connect! BTW.. mac addresses can be spoofed (in WinXP, in device mgr, go to Advanced tab and select 'Locally administered address' and enter a mac-address in value field.. thats all), so if someone knows your mac-address (which is easy), and ur n/w is only secured through mac address, anyone can enter!! Also, as an added security measure, change the ip address of router to a random address in local network.Read More

Yes.. there's this problem of cheating, and apparently the additive is backed by tata motors!!! The engine oil additive is full of shit, and no one needs anything like that... the service guys told me that this helps oil maintain its viscosity.. f* kin morons.. I asked em which oil they use.. is ...oil itself not able to maintain viscosity? then he said 'in changing weather', well, if additive costs 500INR, you might very well have a total oil change rather than an additive every time I'll suggest nobody fall for similar traps. All these knick-knacks they sell are useless, and are worth nothing... Also, the oil additive might be the reason for low mileage. Also.. the fuel tank light thing... It happens because when the fuel level goes is close to level when light starts glowing, the fuel crosses the reserve(I couldn't get a better word) level depending on the slope/orientation of car, the accleration/deceleration, speed and moving direction and road condition (bcoz its a liquid.. it jumps up n down more than your car) If you look carefully.. you might also see fule level indicator also shifts a little bit left-right in these conditions..Read More
