THIS PROBLEM IS WITH US FROM 2005 WHEN HAWKINS INTRODUCED THE NEW PRESSURE WHISTLE SYSTEM.....TOTALLY LOST SYSTEM......
I HAVE ALSO TRIED TO CONTACT WITH THE MUMBAI MAIN OFFICE BUT THEY DENIED THE MAIN ISSUE AND SAYING T...HAT THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE NEW WHISTLE SYSTEM.....THATS TOTALLY BULLSHIT.......A HOUSE WIFE DOES NOT KNOW THE SCIENCE, SHE KNOWS ONLY THE COUNTING WHISTLE..........NOTHING ELSE........

IF THE VALVE IS SAFETY VALVE, THEN IT IS NOT INCLUDED WITH WARRANTY.....
SAFETY VALVE IS NEEDED FOR SAFETY , IF THE PRESSURE IS MUCH HIGHER THEN IT MELTS TO RELEASE EXCESS PRESSURE AND AVOIDS BURST. IF NECESSARY, IT CAN MELTS 10-20 TIMES PER YEAR. SO YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL THAT ANYTHING DOES NOT ...CLOGS THE TUBE. IT SHOULD BE CLEANED.Read More

I HAVE READ UR REVIEW. IF U ARE LOOKING FOR A WHISTLE BASED COOKER, THEN FUTURA IS NOT PROPER 4 U AS IT IS A NON WHISTLING COOKER.
FROTHING CAN OCCUR IN NORMAL COOKER DURING COOKING OF RICE, SO IT IS NORMAL.
I HAVE USED FUTURA, IT IS MUCH FASTER THAN NORMAL WHISTLING COOKER. IN NORMAL COOKER, ...WHEN TEMPERATURE RISES MORE THAN 121 DEGREE CELCIUS THEN WHISTLE APPEARS AND TEMPERATURE DROPS TO 110-115 DEGREE. THEN AGAIN IT TAKES SOME TIME TO RAISE THE TEMPERATURE TO 121 AND THE CYCLE GOES ON. BUT IN FUTURA, DUE TO NO WHISTLING, THE JIZZLING PRESSURE REGULATOR ALWAYS MAINTAINS 121 DEGREE, SO IT COOKS FASTER. SO THIS IS THE SCIENCE.Read More

I just want to know that how the safety valve was fused? What was you cooking at that time? May be something was clogged and safety valve fused, for which it was made. I want to know that what model you were using? Was it POPULAR model or DELUXE model? As you are saying, it seems that ...safety valve fused during normal pressure cooking, but it is not possible as in normal cooking you need 121 degree celcious temp, but for safety valve fuse you need over 135 degree celcious, which may rise vary quickly in small pressure cooker that large size cooker. This is very common. We use HAWKINS small size, large size cooker, and have to replace safety valve for small sized cooker during cooking some frothing foods like dl, rice. So pls write profile what happened with you at the time of cooking.

I think you have not properly made justice to your HAWKINS cooker. It is true that sprouting may occur during cooking , as your cooker was small so it is quiet normal. If you use PRESTIGE 2 ltr POPULAR model, then the same thing will occur.

In my opinion HAWKINS is the India’s most poular pressure cooker company but in southern part of india, outerlid cooker is mostly used as PRESTIGE, PREMIER, PIGEON etc.
I advice you to buy one 3.5 ltr HAWKINS CLASSIC model or 2.5 ltr MISS MARY model (as they are cheapest) cooker and use it. Here you do not have to face the problem of frothing except when you cook dal etc then pls add some drops of oil and just see and then pls inform me.
