For any kind of queries on credit card, call the call center and explain the matter. They are supposed to help you in all manner. Each conversation is recorded for future reference. You can get your statement by mail too. If they threaten you, you should register a case against them. No ...bank can threaten a customer verbally or physically. Hi Joshi The best thing is to deduct the amount from credit card payment and then cancel the card. I am damn sure to do that this month itself. Getting back money is almost impossible in India. Let HSBC fight it out with Tata-AIG for that money. They have bigger muscles. surendran

I visited Big Bazar, Inorbit and Hypercity in Mumbai and Big Bazaar and Spencer's in Pune. Great experiences. Unbelievable prices. Pay by credit cards. Spend time on each item before choosing it. Well these retail guys buy things directly from the farmer/producer throwing the middle men out. They... force manufacturer's in China to make the cheapest product. Bye to Indian manufacturer. But will the trend continue? Will the quality guy, store officer, banker, transporter, support guy all replace the one middle man of the earlier period? I heard that things are going bad in US after Wal Mart. Farmers are quitting agriculture due to bad returns for their products. Only time will tell. Read More

Nice to know you have no probs with your car insurance. I too have Tata-AIG cover for my car since Dec 2006. Well I have not met with any accident to know about their service. Hope it will be facilitative. Anyway they are not going to get any money for that fraud life insurance with HSBC credi...t card. I will cancel the card if HSBC insists on payment and let them fight it out with Tata-AIG. Thanks - Surendran Read More

Films, dance, songs are all forms of art. What Rakhi does is as dictated by the Directors. It is her personal choice what role to choose or reject. We can always choose not to see a movie or simply press the next channel button on the remote.

As I have mentioned there is no written document to this effect. Only a phone call. Probably they have recorded it. But as promised no document reached me for preview. So my demand for cancellation and Tata-AIG not concerned about contacting me. There is an evident collusion between HSBC and ...Tata-AIG. Yes. I can never forget this beautiful place on the hilltop of Matheran. I had been there in 2002. Started from Panvel by car in the morning via Karjat and reached there before noon. Stayed for two nights. Just got lost in the woods walking and drinking in the nature. The experience was reall...y out of this world. No words can really explain it. So I recommend that one should visit this place which is almost like another universe. Read More

Thanks Jaideep. That was a informative post. I have taken the policy for my car when it was already expired and managed to get the policy done within two days flat through an investment agent. I insisted that I get the policy fast as I could not drive without the insurance and that worked. I...n the case of damage to your car the best way is to take it to an authorised service center and get the service center to co-ordinate with the insurance guys. It should not take more than 5 days to get your car back if the damage is not too bad. There are local garages that claim more to cover for your part of payment so that you need not pay anything. But I have seen the effect with some cars, badly painted or repaired. So better to shell out our part to get a good job done, else your car re-sale value will go down drastically. That was a good analysis Amrita. I missed reading your review earlier. I have been with ICICI for the past 3 years. I have online trading account too. Yes there are hiccups like server maintenance sometimes, no response during peak trading and banking hours, long queues in front of ATMS and br...anches. On the whole I feel that ICICI is a reasonably good bank. For those who are used to Bombay life, queues are no issues. You just cleverly choose the best options like the other ATM and another time of the day for transactions. Also visit the branch at a lean time. The waiting in most cases was not more than 20 minutes in my case, but may be I got all facts like when to visit and which branch to visit to minimise waiting. Also get all facts like trading charges, ATM card charges, Quarterly minimum balance charges, and wisely maintain the account and balance. This is true with any bank. I park a big amount for a short period so that the average balance evens out during any quarter. Yes ICICI need to do their homework and get feedback from customers (wish they would read all the reviews on mouthshut) and fix their issues. Just getting more and more customers is not a soultion to make money. Customer satisfaction is the key to riches. I had experiences with many banks like SBM, SBT, SBBJ, SBH, Canara Bank, HSBC, IDBI, PNB, ICICI, Indian Bank at some time or the other. All are same. They are out to make money. The public sector banks are as usual casual and indifferent to customer satisfaction. The private sector has injected a reason to be more efficient and it has worked to some extent. Hope ICICI and their counter parts do not fall into the trap of arrogance and complacancy. Read More

Sorry I missed this article. But I wonder if Kamini is in the custody of intelligence agencies!!! You have touched a very sensitive subject. In the US the FBI would have picked you, your father and all those relatives who gave you this information - whether the info is available on the web/media... or not. Yes all over the world money is being squandered in the name of security of nations when millions are dying of hunger. Those millions who died in Iraq due to the earlier embargo and the current war is a glaring example of what a rich nation can do to another. The issue that people in India are dying of hunger, mal nutrition and suicide are of no one's concern. We are more into defence research, building highways, airports rather than attending these issues. The progress of a nation cannot sustain on empty stomachs. Yes we do need a strong defence. We do need highways and airports. But we should ensure that all Indians are taken care of and enjoy the prosperity that few of us have. Don't forget that the tax payers money has contributed to our education too. We as a nation should address that else we will cease to exist as a peacful, secular democracy. Read More
