The name Hugh Hector Munro (1870 –1916), unfortunately is no longer in vogue today. Only a couple of his stories (The open window, Mrs.Packletide’s tiger) have made their way into school textbooks. loved ur review (Khoop chhaan aahay!) the story also is appealing - some of the most mundane things in our lives often give the most comfort esp when one is down & out..... the idea of a book CD is certainly worth a try ...... but it can never ever replace the pleasure of a book.... wonder... where it will be available sulabhaa Read More

I loved this book. It will never get dated and can be re-read too without tiring of it. The drawings are also delightful. Some interesting trivia : Jean Webster is Mark Twain's niece. There is a sequel called 'Dear Enemy',but I have yet to read it. Cheerio sulabhaa
