Hi, The book review was good, so didn't want to duplicate. The key characters that I liked are Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas, Faramir, Sam and of course, Gandalf. As Gandalf says somewhere in the beginning of the book, there is a reason for a creature as despicable as Gollum to be alive and with the... hobbits. In fact, he and sam are the true heroes in the end - Sam for rescuing him and carrying him to the mountain; Gollum for trying to take the ring from Frodo, when Frodo falls a slave to the evil charms of ....... [deliberately left this blank :) ] As to some other comments that the movie was not as good as the book, I disagree. The Two Towers and the Return of the King are exceptional, barring that they do not show many parts of the book [it would have been a 30 part movie instead of a 3 part one]. This may be one reason for the dislike of the movie. In the movie, Gandalf, Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas are sketched so wonderfully that you can feel the emotions in them. Viggo Mortensen, in particular, plays Aragorn to perfection. I simply loved him in the movie. Regards SridharRead More

Normally I am not interested in Carnatic music, but the songs in this movie, especially the last one, Thaye Yashoda, is outstanding. This was a good review. I suggest that you also write about the author's writing style, depth of research etc. Dan Brown's research is amazing- he must have some great guys/gals with him! As somebody commented, the ending is a let down after the promise in the whole book. I might also mention tha...t there are other books which aim to counter the ideas raised in this book. Interested readers are recommended to search for related books in amazon (A search of this book will throw them up also). There were some documentaries from Nat Geo and Discovery on this book, but they were not very illuminating. Regards SridharRead More

Hotmail is better compared to Fastmail? Thats a joke, right? So many people have already replied to each point of the original poster that it is now redundant for me to do the same. One thing I would definitely like to point out is that fastmail is definitely honest. I once wrote to them saying... that even after I had upgraded my account to an enhanced account, one feature was not working (it was just 2 days after the upgrade), they apologized within 2 hours and sent me a 10% discount coupon in case I renewed the service along with rectification of the problem. I am going to renew, but NOT use the coupon. Regards SridharRead More

Hi, While Ganguly's form has definitely deteriorated, I don't think he is incapable of playing against the big teams. Remember his big knocks against England, Pakistan and Sri Lanka? I offer a different reason for his slump in form: Indian Players, especially batsmen, lose their form after being ...made captains. Gavasaka, Srikkanth, Vengsarkar, Azhar. It makes me wonder, after Kapil paaji, why no bowler has been made the captain? We Indians make super heroes of batsmen and players who have one big knock. Ganguly is defintely aggressive and about a couple of years, all of us were praising this very attitude of his in beating Australia! Regarding the BCCI, all our administartors are non-cricketers. I guess we are the only country to have Board President's who are political appointees! Regards SridharRead More
