I´m from Germany and I´m shocked what I read here. I never heard of such discrimination before. About the baggage weight and the problems at the counter. On many german airports, I guess also in Munich, are at the counters no stuff of Lufthansa themselves, but people who work for the airpo...rt (and work at any counter, when they are needed). Did I got it right, that one bag/suitcase had a weight of 36kg? If so, then it causes really problems at german airports, because there is a maximum weight a suitcase can have. If it is more then 32kg, the workers are not allowed to carry them, for health-protection reasons. The price your group had to pay was also very high, I´m surprised, the prices for too much lagguage depent so much and sometimes i think, its the staff´s free choice how high the price is :-(. But that is not only true for Lufthansa, I experienced the same with Royal Jordanian on my last flight to Delhi (from Munich via Amman).
