It is weird that Hyundai cars ( viz Gets & Verna) look small from outside, but are quite big inside. In case of Maruti ( e.g. Swift,Esteem) it is the other way round which look big, but have less space inside. Coming to Verna, the Engine has really impressed everyone. But it appears that the car ...should have some more space in the rear. Or else, it should cost a lilttle less. Rs 8 lakh for a smallish looking car is not worth it. Also, Hyundai should make their cars better looking. Read More

Writing so much about a soap targetted towards the low end of the market ? I wonder if the soap deserves such glowing words. Moreover, the Hindustan Lever Limited, is a company that takes its customers for a ride by packaging old stuff in new wrappings, as well as by running competitions where y...ou have to buy their products hoping to win prizes. And in case you manage to win the first prize, you can forget about the company honouring your claim. Any update on the excellent service now that you are repaying the loan ? Was your loan really fixed, or was it written as floating in the documents ?What is the 'fixed' rate of interest now ? And what is the tenure of loan now ? If you are still happy with the bank, then good luck to you.

I am sure you are financially savvy and do not let the ICICI do everything for you after taking your signature on the dotted lines.I was also happy with ICICI as long as I was financially naive. When I became financially aware, and I had the chance to actually apply my mind and critically examine IC...ICI working, then I realised what a fraud this bank was perpetrating on me. So, if you are for real, then my advice is, please, please, check that you are not being taken for a ride by ICICI. May be you just have an account with ICICI, and you have not taken any loans from ICIC. It is when one takes a loan from ICICI that the true face of ICICI gets exposed the best.Read More

That is a great way of dealing with these people. I have dealt with ICICI in a different way and hopefully I have heard the last of their calls. But I will love to use your method if I ever get such unsolicited calls again.

Give the caller a piece of your mind. This also serves the purpose quite well, if you have time. ICICI bank is easily the worse culprit.

Nice review. I was not aware that it has better ride comfort than other cars in its price range. That alone should make it preferable to most other cars in its price range. The engine is definitely more powerful than that of its competitors, and even the price at which it was bought appears affordabl...e. Every great player has a great past record, but a time comes when his present performance no longer does justice to his stature. No one denies that Tendulkar was a great match winner for India. But that was in the past. If you judge him on the basis of his last 3-4 years of record, you will real...ise that he has scored less than 2000 test runs with only 4 test centuries at an average less than 40. During this period, Lara has almost caught up with Tendulkar in the number of test centuries, and overtaken Tendulkar in test runs. Ponting too has almost caught up with Tendulker in the number of test centuries scored. These two players were far behind Tendulkar three years ago. As for ODIs, Tendulkar still makes a few centuries, but the last time he made a century under pressure in a final was in 1998 at Sharjah against Australia. For the last few years, he has gained the tag of being a choker in crunch matches. He is no longer enjoying his cricket, like he did in the past. He is hanging in there because of the endorsements that he gets to sign as a member of the team. If the corporate world no longer sign him for ads, then Sachin Tendulkar will hang up his boots immediately. It is the lure of the lucre that is making him hang on to his place even though he is no longer the player that he was 4 years ago. You can not wish away his failures in the world cup in the matches that mattered. Had he scored a century or even a half century in one of the two matches where he failed, India would still be in the world cup. If Tendulkar deserves all the accolades and money for his past performance, then he deserves all the brickbats for his present performances as well. Read More

Even if one has a vehicle, and willing people to train you, it is still advisable for a beginner to get trained in a driving school first. There you have experienced teachers, and the driving school also helps you get your beginner's license if you do not have it. Moreover, you are taught some very ...important things which you may not be able to learn on your own, if you have learnt driving on your own. For example, how to cope when you have to stop on an up gradient, and you have no option of backing, because there are vehicles in the rear- this kind of tip is difficult to learn on your own, or from other novice trainers. Once you have learnt from a driving school, you are better equipped to drive your vehicle on your own. There are many things where you may get stuck while driving on your own, but the knowledge and confidence that you gained while learning in a driving school will then help you arrive at the solution. The annoyances that you talked about ( nagging co-passenger, viz your spouse, talking passengers etc ) are a fact of life, you cannot wish them away. You need to learn to multitask, viz listening to the co passngers talk, still concentrating on driving. One should not allow yourself to lose your composure because of nagging by your spouse or talk of the co passengers, otherwise that will cause trouble for you and the co passengers while driving.Read More

Mr Rajeev, If you continue with the bank, you will suffer. By now the bank may have increased your loan interest to over 15%, which means that the tenure of your loan is already increased by 7 years atleast. Do not delay. Foreclose your loan even if it means paying a foreclosure penalty ( 2.2%... at present). If you wait any longer, you will find yourself in further trouble. Approach a government bank who is prepared to take over this loan. I had taken a loan for similar amount from ICICI in 2004, and I got it foreclosed in february 2007, and the loan was taken over by SBI. that way, I was rid of ICICI once and for all. And I strongly advice you to do the same.Read More

I have been reading a lot about the poor service of ICICI. Just complaining about ICICI and talking of ineffective methods like writing to ICIC bigwigs is not going to help much. The best solution is to have nothing to do with the bank. Foreclose your ICICI home loan and have a government bank ta...ke over your loan. That way, you will be rid of this problem once and for all. And the problem will be taken care of at its grass roots level. If you continue to bank with ICICI, the bank will find new ways and means to harass you. Why allow yourself to be harassed by this bank. Just do not do any business with this bank. There are banks which provide much better service. And ironically, they are the government banks. Bank with them.Read More

I got my ICICI home loan transferred to SBI. And the SBI, despite being a government bank, went out of their way in assisting me in taking over the loan. I am so relieved now, because now I can rest in peace. After I foreclosed my loan with ICICI, ICICI has increased the interest rate by 2% in 2... months. And that means ICICI loan takers will have their loan tenure increased by 4 years. It is daylight robbery. So take my advice, and get your ICICI home loan transferred to a government bank. Saving yourself from this bank is better than just complaining about the bank and doing nothing about that.Read More

Take home loan from a government bank like SBI. The interest of a government bank is actual interest without any hidden charges. On the other hand, the interest that private banks quote is highly misleading and their actual interest rate is much higher. Coming to your experience with citibank, I ...can only say that anyone who is denied a loan by private banks like citibank , ICICI etc should thank their stars and go to a government bank. The abovementioned private banks are crooks who entice gullible loan seekers through their slick ads and glib staff. In reality they are no different from the illegal money lender that can still be found in villages. Government banks are the best banks. They may not be as proactive in the beginning, but they will not harass you after your loan is sanctioned.Read More

You are advising others not to take a home loan from ICICI because they refused you a home loan. You are lucky that they did that. Had they given you the loan, by now you would have been complaining of their hidden charges, frequent hike of interest, and other irregularities. You should thank your ...stars that ICICI did not choose to make you their victim. Once you get trapped by ICICI, it is very difficult to escape from the clutches of ICICI. You become their bonded labourer for life. So do not curse ICICI. Bless ICICI that it did not find you worthy enough to give you the loan. You just lost Rs 9000, which is small change, considering how much they would have made you pay, had they given you a home loan.Read More

Dear blaster, Public sector bank are excellent. There is no hidden charge and you can rest easy. Never have any dealing with someone like ICICI for your own sake. I have had loans with both type of banks. PSU bank ( SBI) is infinitely better than ICICI. the latter is a bunch of crooks, and that is ...putting it mildly.Read More

You are frustrated because ICICI did not give you a loan ? Read the other reviews about ICICI and thank your stars that ICICI is not sanctioning your loan. Do not touch ICICI home loans with a barge pole. I am saying this not because of the reviews here, but because of first hand experience. Go to a... PSU bank. They will give you much better service. Again, I am saying this with personal experience.Read More

Very good points. I am also a sufferer and now I am trying to transfer my loan to another bank. As mentioned by agnelor86, he transferred his loan to another bank. Was it a hassle free experience ? I am interested in knowing about it, becuase it appears to me that ICICI puts big hurdles in your way,... once you try to do that. For instance, I am interested to know how long ICICI took to return your original documents after you foreclose the loan with ICICI ?Read More
