I think your review is informative and a whole lot fun to read. Loved it.

Sorry, I think your review is misleading -- you have mentioned that if the color cartridge runs out, there is no option to print the color areas in black and white, even if you have a black and white cartridge intact. There are 2 ways to do it, (i) by choosing 'grayscale printing' under the main tab... of the printer properties and (ii) by choosing 'black only' under ink cartridge settings in maintenance tab of the printer properties. I have an MP160 too.Read More

v3engens: Appreciate your rating and leaving a comment. The Corsa 1.4 accelerates faster than the naturally aspirated Octavia versions (2.0L), not the turbocharged RS version (1.8L). That is why I have mentioned in my comment to Gururajan, 'So that’d be the 2.0, not the 1.8'. I was clarifying a ...mistake I made earlier in my post mentioning smoking an Octavia 1.8. I did not realize at the time that the non-turbo Octavia had a larger 2L engine.Read More

Sorry this aint really a comment on the review. Was googling for mods for the international version of the x14ne engine, stumbled upon your review. Saw a striking similarity with the following url http://www.josephantony.com/Writings/opelcorsa.htm I have a 1.4 SAIL. Liked your review. You obvious...ly have a much better fuel average than I ever got. Love the car's performance and comfort though. sAP Read More

I have a 1.5T Hitachi Logicool. Within 3 years, it failed twice in its primary function. Reliability seems to take a back seat at Hitachi. I just saw another reviewer who had quality problems with his Hitachi too.

Was glad to see a review on this car. Appreciate the effort. I have seen this car and sat inside one at an Opel showroom. Certainly felt a whole lot upmarket. Have no idea about performance since I did not test drive either.

Sweet review. But I thought I should point out something on the VTEC that you mentioned. The older Honda City had a VTEC version. The New City does NOT have a VTEC engined version. Instead, all 3 variants come with a programmed sequential ignition engine (called 'i-DSI') which employs dual spar...k plugs for better combustion efficiency. To answer your question, yes. But the all-torque-no-horsepower is only an exaggeration. As for most city drivers, I’d recommend the 1.6 because it does away with the need to “engage” the power band. As for performance freaks, I’d recommend mild porting – at some loss of... drivability (throwing in a K&N filter will not do the job, as some might think).Read More

Okay, some stuff going on here.. thought I'll chime in. There are a couple of differences between the 1.4 and 1.6 versions of the Corsa than just the 4PS. The Corsa 1.4 produces peak horsepower at 6600 RPM versus the 1.6 which peaks at a lower 5600 RPM. In theory it seems that the 1.6 is better,... but on the track, its the 1.4 that thrills. How? While the 1.6 does indeed produce 3.6 more horses at a lower engine speed, it doesnt rev very high in the range and requests for a relatively early upshift. That lack clearly shows during your shift entry. I have driven both versions, but bought a 1.4. Now, there's a flip side to the 1.4. It really feels deficient at low RPM, and ridiculously so, especially profound when the AC is engaged. On the 1.6 however, there's a lot of torque that this is almost unnoticable. Now, if someone were to ask how more torque does not translate into more power, a classic example would be the Enfield bullet. If you have driven one, you'd know what 'all torque and no horsepower' means. Which of the 2 versions is 'better performing' largely depends on your driving style and skill level. Extracting performance from a Corsa requires skill (de-clutching skills especially, which are high on the order list) but when executed well can provide tremendous driver satisfaction that few other cars can. Well, now that I have mentioned so much, I wish it had some better handling though! Understand that the final word in performance is not in figures in the printed material. Its on the street/ track.Read More

Loved your review. It kinda answered some of the things I generally investigate in a sporty car. I never tried test driving the GTX. I took the Palio off my purchase list after I found that the 1.2 had a tendency to oversteer. After reading your review, I am inclined to give the GTX a 3T. (T...o know what a 3T is, see the comments page on my review on the Corsa Sail 1.4. :)Read More

First, the 3 T's of car purchasing - test drive, test drive, test drive. Second, and traditionally speaking, the Corsa isnt for everybody. It seems to be covered with so much controversy(!!), now that I am beginning to see some involvement from users. To begin with, its' steering is chunky/ beefy... than others (*I love that*) and heck, its engine needs to be revved over the the 1500RPM point to rock. To let you in on some history, I test drove 10 different demo cars (actually 11, considering the Ford Ikon) before I decided to put my money down. Those were the Alto 1000cc, Zen, WagonR, Santro, Versa, Palio, Indica, Indigo, Ford Ikon, Esteem and the Maruti Baleno. Some of them I test drove more than once, the Corsa upto 3 times. Each drive was mapped out in a strategic course, and all cars were driven on the same strategic course that lasted 40 minutes each. I feel sorry for some Corsa owners complaining about the car's character -- which means that when its not a durability issue or a service related one that users are complaining about (buyers cannot legitimately evaluate that during test-drives). For instance, there is no way of knowing if the a/c vents drop off after prolonged normal use, thats an issue that must be expressed, which someone has. But for largely everything else, I think a detailed test drive and comparison study would have eliminated the 'character' mismatch. Perhaps not all have the time or inclination to do that. But for a Rs.5 Lakh investment, I think it should be on everyone's list of to-do's.Read More

Gururajan, thanks for your feedback. From a user's point of view, I can't imagine the numerous persectives possible on a single product. I appreciate that you disagree. You are right about the 8 valves versus the 12 I thought it had... I should have checked before I wrote that. The results of the s...treet drags are true. 3 quarter-mile races against the naturally aspirated Octavia. So that'd be the 2.0, not the 1.8 -soorejRead More

After reading your dealership experience, I sure am glad I am not in Surat, dealing with Empire Motors. I own a SAIL 1.4 myself, bought from a dealership in Chennai.
