I really don’t know if my review on the SX4 will add any value to any reader – the reason: already so many reviews have been penned down that there is hardly any point left to be covered(or debated). My allegiance to Maruti, however, obligates me to write this review. So, here I am putting my...Read more

Is this a review, or judgement on Sen's writing skill? Reading your 'review' all I decipher is that you were not able to 'swallow' the book. You haven't written your reasons. Or, if you have, which are mostly judgements, you have not substantiated your points with evidence from the text. BTW, the bo...ok is a collection of essays many of which were penned by Sen years before he got the Nobel. So much for getting high!Read More

...... Why would any one need a AirBag if he/she is wearing a Seat Belt... Now that's a good one! Honda City surely provides seat belts. I wonder why they are now introducing Air bags.

It's uncanny how your 'so-deep-songs' match mine. '... dard ka doosra naam hai zindagi...' was a very touching song. I don't find people talking about this one often. 'Katra katra' is my all time favourite. Nice review. Shom

I loved watching Parineeta, every moment of it till about the end. Was it because of the old world charm, or the sheer simplicity of the story told at a good pace? Or was it because after watching Devdas I had little expectations from this movie? Or, maybe it was both. Whatever be the reason, I ...Read more

Feels good to read a review from you after a long time. Haven't seen the film, though your review brings to mind a play I did in 1992 - Girish Karnad's NagMandal. It also had a similar intriguing theme. Keep writing more often... Shom

I cannot enter Spielberg's shoes, nor read his mind. What I can do is to assess his creative persona - what challenges this great movie maker - from the films that he has created. One look at the impressive list and we get the picture - ET, Jaws, Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan, Jurassi...Read more

Jai - Thanks for your comments. Once u reconciled to it, it wasn't so bad...:) Sachin - I am happy u liked it. I hear IIT-B is also very beautiful. Lyla - Too bad for the guys. But excellent situation for women on campus...:) Shashank - One advantage IITD has is its location at the heart of... the city, hence many interesting diversions...:). At Kanpur, the campus was infinitely better than any place in the city.Read More

Nice choices, though I haven't heard a few of these. BTW, you must listen to the original 'Bahon mein chale...' by Lata from the movie 'Anamika.' The remix is nothing in comparison. Cheers! Shom

I wish someone would agree to part his money so you could make a movie of your own. Perhaps then you would appreciate the craft better.

As you step off the train, onto the crowded platform, the little kiosk with the white banner strikes you immediately - it says ''Welcome to IIT K.'' The guy in T-shirt and jeans holding some sort of a list checks your name, smiles and then politely asks you to get on the waiting white bus. As...Read more

Fully endorse your recommendation. In the service sector, it is the people who make all the difference. I think, in its haste to expand, ICICI has compromized on people working for it. BTW, I have experience as a customer with quite a few banks in India. Citi, and HDFC seem to be miles ahead of the ...others. Good revu! - ShomRead More

...choices! I would like to add two of my favourites - Graham Greene (His control over the language is amazing) - Thomas Hardy (Best descriptions I have ever read). At the same time, I have read countless short stories by many regional (indian) authors that have left a deep impression. You ju...st have to read some of the stories regularly published in 'Katha.' I completely agree with you - Ray was a living genius until a few years back. I love reading his stories; alas, he is no more to continue writing. Did u know that Ray was also an artist? His scripts/stories were mostly conceptualized using free hand sketches. A very good review. - Shom

Agree with most of your views. Just a couple of things that kind of make a member like me sad. First, I really don't understand how one can write multiple reviews on a single day. For me, writing one review takes up a lot of time. And, I write only about things that I feel I am competent to write ab...out. I do enjoy reading reviews, though, whenever I get the time. To tell you the truth, I think quality outscores mere quantity when it comes to writing value adding reviews. This is of course my personal view. I really appreciate your ratings and comments. I think it is very thoughtful of you to take out time to read and rate reviews. Keep it up. - ShomRead More
