Also regarding cancer patients at terminal stages, I don't think any doctor will refuse to treat them, how is it possible? Of course they will not give you any false hopes or guarantee success but not guaranteeing they ' their best ' is not accepable.
But doctors, specially those who treat life t...hreatening diseases on a daily basis tend to be stressed out and may detach themselves emotionally. Otherwise, there are understanding and cold hearted ppl in every profession, medical line is no exception.Read More

Hi Rahul
I read this review yesterday and was stunned. I should have guessed when you had written a previous review on Dharamshila that you were visiting some cancer patient.....but the seriousness of the issue escaped me then.
I wish you strength to deal with it but most of all I hope it ...is not someone very close.I regret it immensely that you had to deal with this personal loss. Please M2M me about it.

Hey Shamik,
I keep coming to your page again and again to see if you've written smthing. So finally you have :-)
'Aur suna' and 'what's up' have just become extensions to 'hi' (like snacks are to tea) and sometimes we have time for nothing else even if we want to chat up. I am a recluse myself... and hide behind short sentences.

Hi Sanjeev,
You missed the point....
The idea was not to get you interested.
It was to ward you off.

Hi Sanjeev,
I did not read this review earlier because even the mention of the Indian team had become frustating.......rightly said promos etc are their bread butter and honey, playing is just a side job they wish their team-mates could do for them. Such aimless, slothy merceneries...

Nice review, but not worth-in-a -hall-watch movie
it seems more like a inbetween-commercials-of-a-better-movie
-watch kind movie. Too many of this genre have come up.
I liked the way you have written this,

That was some encouragement...it lit my day!!
I had wondered too (about the story) but had a feeling that it should be good.I have just touched the story ( in the review) so that it does not rob the future readers of their joy of discovery..

If we are not alert and assertive enough, many are just waiting to rob us! Even his 6 cars did not give the poor man any dignity.
What happened to me is funnier. I went to Subhikha in Ahemdabad coz it was nearer than Reliance/Star India and Big Bazaar. What do I see?
A commodity like sugar b...eing available in 2kg and 5 kg packs only,
veggies that must be taken in baskets to counter for weighing ( perhaps they thought each Indian woman is a goddess with many hands so she can carry 10 baskets in 10 hands.)
stale veggies.
Sweepress who doubles up as counter girl and who speaks only gujrati.
bill printed in baba- adam type printer where nothing can be read.

My parents ,both doctors, didn't have a son either and my sister and I grew up getting the best in everything ....I think even more than what a son would .
But I've grown up ,come out of my cocooned and sheltered life and come to understand this;
1) That there are two types of people
Typ...e A- We want sons
/daughters maybe too but
son is must
Type B- Any Child(m/f) is welcome/
girl child is desired
2) Type A and Type B look exactly alike
and may belong to any socio - eco background/ region but from insides they are as different as two species.
3) Type A pray for a son, get sex determined, get MTPs done and as I got to know even eat pills to conceive a son.
Most don't speak about it but some are even vocal and are so normal and shameless about it that they can even justify it with full conviction.
Type B raises its girls with love and respect, prides in them and labours to provide them with the very best.
5) Type A will begin counting since the day the son is born,
what all things shall come in his dowry and which all traits the daughter- in -law should have
Type B will only think of the best education and
simple wedding of children.
6) Type A person can live in Type B majority in pretense. Type B
will suffocate to death in a Type A majority.

I've come across this phrase time and again and
have only recently known the source
Rhett Butler is the only real ( unfake if the word exists) in the story and so charming at that....I'm sure he must have turned the dialogues into
legends....
Cheers

I think you should read the book and make an exception
You will not regret it !
