I am ashamed when some of my fellow 'knowledgeble' indian cricket fans find reasons to rebuke Tendulkar. These are the same guys who will go on ranting about any decent foriegn player who comes around. Neway india would not get a second tendulkar in near future and then may be these guys wil realise... what they are missing.

hey adithya you just forgot it was fiction and as some might say popular fiction. If you didnt like the book because of flawed logic then god help you. you're better off reading paul cohelo.
honestly i dont have nething against personal choice but you're reasons are too pure;-) Neway as long as b...ook keeps you interested its a good fiction because nobody knows everything in this world so for fiction authors readers ignorance is bliss. thats why they dont claim it as a fact.
you know what you take these books too seriously thats why may be you dont enjoy them.

hi vicki,
nice review and going by the the way everybody is going bonkers over it i know i am in minority but i hold what i always say. 'whats the point'.
The film was supposed to be about growing up of hritik to findhis lakshya how much did hee grew afterhe joined the army. i think i would have... enjoyed t more if the first half was the whole film coz atleast it was the point behind the film.
i agee with you about hritik and the technical part which was no doubt superb but.........
what was the import of second half to the story except 15 minutes of hritik priety love story (which i think was handled well).
There is a saying Much ado about nothing, and the utter wastage of talent by casting Amitji and ompuri in entirely useless role which could have been done by any other minor actor.
and not to mention farhan's complete ignorance of the selection process in the army. you must know that, you have friends in there.
in short one day hritik decides to go to army just like that and he gets there then runs ut then after his girlfriend scolding gets back and completes IMA with the GC sword of honour. that was pretty much about it .
honestly the film was time pass (mainly because of hritik), 3 stars at best but thats me.

nice revu but i mostly dont agree with you.
i think though the film was tecnically very good with some deftly choreographed war scenes, but i don't think faran was clear about his lakshya. hritik's realisation came in the first half and the second half was reduced to an unfinished lovestory in th...e background of kargil war. hritik didn't become anymore focussed than he was after leaving ima. Also i think romi was absolutely write in shouting at karan after he ran from ima and the fricton between then though very well directed and acted was unneccessary and was only there to bind first and second half. also an actor like amiabh bachchan was completely wasted in a useles role.
The second alf was heavily inspired from no man's land and except hritik every other charcter was short changed. the only reason the movie scored , except for the technicians, is Hritik roshan and roshan alone.

P.S. farhan didn't even thought it neccessary to enquire how could one get ito IMA and that all written exams of it were conducted by UPSC and the next level is a full fleged SSB (and not just an interview) to screen out unfocussed guys like hritik who could not handle the hardships at ima and at army (esecially the ones conducted after college). it might be a small creative comproise but thats the difference between good direction and indifference.Read More

hi cheif,
i agree with you (though not surprising). i gotso fed up after watching this movie that i couldnt evn ing myself to write a review.
Also that fact that i didn't like witness that much wither made it all the more worse. But you're right about pooja bhat ashamedly liftig almost everythig... from witness except the basic idea.
there should be a law against such misadventures
any way nice reaing you after along time. hope more bad movies inspire you to rip them apart.

P.S. - you got youself a beautiful picture there. h...ere in MS as anywhere else beutiful girls get more eyes and comments. same with handsome boys. In that mist most of the times merit gets lost. So for the past three years whichever newcomer i've come across i've asked them not to upload their pic. In that way they can have more impartial discussion. So i'ld extend the same reuest to you. Most of them do not agree with me as a photo is compulsory to become a star writer in MS (another ridiculous rule in mS) but anyway i still do request. The rest is upto your judgement. Sorry to sound a little off but once you become regular you would get my point (Anyway with such a nice ID you don't need the pic, God not id's now;-).

Firstly, i liked Dil se. It had that amazing look anf was fast paced like a thriller, not to mention the music and SRK without his profilgacies (i honestly do not care if any film i like does not do weell at BO).
Anyway that apart i
didn't have any major expectations from this film. firstly Aj...ay devgan has became too monotonous, vivek is starting to get on my nerves and i hated the music.
The only thing that could have made me watch this film was abhishek. And i see you liked him. So may be i will give this one a try anyway.

As i guessed you are a reasonable person. and what i said does not meant your opinion is wrong. Opinions are never wrong, they can be misinformed but never wrong. You on the other hand seem to be quite well informed.
I was just trying to get into the overrated part. Trust me sharukh's USP isnot ...his acting and he is not a superstar coz of his acting. So you are write when you say he is not a god actor. nfact the two film in which he did really act KHKN, and dil se bombed at the boxoffice.
So even if he could, i don't think he would after all he has no reason to do.
NEway i don't think this discusson would interest you anymore so i should stop. But keep having fun with or without SRK.

The formatting was not my mistake. The product was not there so i wrote it in the mouthpad and the rest is ugly. I too don't like review without paras but what could i do. Atleastr this time MS published my review, last times they thought Warriors of heaven and earth was a hindi film so they reject...ed what would have been my 50th review.

You know i would have written the same as i stated in my review but atleast you have a little honesty to accept what you like and concede that extra inch.
There are lot of hypocrites here in MS as in genral when ...it comes to SRK so usually i ignore them (even though i'm not a die hard fan of SRK but i hate hypocrites) but as i said you sounded honnest and you wrote a very nice review and looked like you enjoyed writing.

I can't help but imagine how would manmohan desai & co. would have treated the climax. I think the mother would have blamed Ram for bringing his son in trouble and just to proove himself Ram would jump in the hellhole and only in the last scene she would have known that her husband is dead and r...am was just carrying out his last wish but by that time it would be very late and the motherless child would die in his mother's lap. (the secret of Amitabh Bach's success ;-) Has Farah Khan missed something or may be not?

You seem to be a happy person that's why the surprise. But for a person born in communist russia, who's seen the worst and finally escaped to a better world, this is not extreme. Ayn R@nd(;-) that's the name trick) started writing in the red-decade (30's-when almost everyone thought that communism w...as the way ahead-even people in america thought it to be a great concept) after seing what she saw she couldn't believe how people could actually accept communism i n any way, so she set out telling people, in her own gripping way, what can and most probably will go wrong.
The worst part about her writings is that in the next 50 years they almost came tue in various parts of the world (i cannot elaborate here for want of space, even my review was too long for MS). So yes in these happy times a happy girl may think her to be too angry but the way her writings have shaped opinions over the years, the anger was definately welcome.
