This book.. Freedom at Midnight is one of my favorites.. yes.. i do agree with you.. that it is mainly based on Mahatma Gandhi..and doesn't throw much light on other people like Patel etc.. this is out and out a book on Mahatma Gandhi and Nehru... but yeah..as all would have it.. it is a book that i...s meant to draw a rosy picture of these two people who contributed much to our country's freedom struggle..
that apart, this book is a pretty original account of the freedom struggle, and more so, the life and times as existed.. the idiosyncracies of the Maharajas, the whims and fancies of the British.. so this contains all..
otherwise.. you wrote well, does full justtice to the review.. and would certainly inspire someone to pick the book and read it still.. Nicely written and keep going..Read More

The Facebook Timeline is a new feature that most FB users started using(willingly or unwillingly) since the last month or so. For all those who are quite annoyed with the user-unfriendliness of this new feature, let me tell you, I have been putting up and coping with Timeline for the last two an...Read more

Development vs Testing !
Jan 02, 2012 06:59 AM
@Desigal Nicely written.. I share your disgust at people frowning at testing.. thought i am not into testing, but rather into software development, and more so into database administration, but i still understand the nuances of such chores...
anyhow, the last para i liked very much.. your take on... cricket vs other sports.. i too share the same sentiment with you in this.. actually, i would rather add the word 'heroism'..its the heroism that we see on a cricket field that makes it popular.. a class innings from dravid or tendulkar or yuvraj is what fans want.. which sadly other sports lacks.. and more over.. it is the consistency factor.. india wins consistently in only this game.. the rest .. their performance is unpredictable..Read More

well. i did not buy one.. but buying is not the only criteria to review a product buddy..! i have experienced the iPhone.. friend.. and that is what i wrote about.. if you read my review.. it is not a full-blown product review where i have reviewed every technical aspect that is inbuilt there.. it's... just a bird's eye view of the product...!!!
having said that, i would like to know what your feedback of the review actually is.? do you agree wiht my review..? do you think iPhone is a niche product..? a highly desirable product..? or somethng to be dumped..? i would like to know that..!!!
and having said.. that.. let me tell you one more thing.. I am not a big fan of the iPhone or for that matter.. i am not a big fan of 'Apple' either..!!!

@amiqu well, thats what i also thot at first.. but when, we start hearing about the same thing from everywhere else, then we see the fact taht all those people who write such stuff are afghan and pakistanis who have left their country for the good old america, i am tempted to see them as a propagand...a sponsored by their adopted country.. another example can be that of Mohsin Hamid and his two books the Reluctant Fundamentalist and Moth Smoke. We hardly read anything else other than how the taliban ravaged the country or how terrorists maime the civilins.. we can do well, by reading and knowing how the occupying forces acted there as well. we never hear that..Read More
