Excellent review, but I would just think the our old preconceived approach to FIAT needs to change. You ruled out Fiat just on the basis of their service reputation.FIAT Linea petrol base version is less than 6.5 on road, which is an extremely value for money car. If you forget about FIATs hisotry a...nd just look at the car it has a big 'WAAAOO' factor. So, Logan is probably the right choice but FIAT could have been equally good considering your requirements.Read More

Thanks for the detailed review. These days, cars and for that matter all appliances rely heavily on the electronic cirtuitry inside them. It looks like all problems were related to the electronic chips and circuitry in the car. So, most of the time the solution is to detect the chip that has gone wr...ong and replace it. I know this is very frustrating. But as long as there are no mechanical problems with the car, you would know that the car is basically good. And time ? - yes its more than money these days. Can't do anything about it. May be it is good idea to write a letter to GM HO about your expereince so that in advance they can give some suggestions.Read More

Well, if You are currently using an IKON, then I dont know what you will gain buying a dezire except that its a newer model. You will even loose boot space. I have driven IKON and Logan both. I haven't dirven Dezire, but I think only another Ford can match Ikon. Go for Fiesta if you can streartch yo...ur budget. If you were upgradig from a small hatch, then Dezire makes sense but from Ikon to Dezire ?- I dont know. About the engines: Yes Dezire has the worlds best dzel engine from Fiat but Logan is more fuel efficient. So, if you want that little edge over fuel efficiency go for Logan. You will get more boot space too. About looks from rear - I agree its horrible, but I have seen one on read with a rear spoiler. Isnt that bad.Read More

Reading this review it seems you want to recommend this car. So why is member's recommendation = 'No'?? I think it should e 'yes' Please correct it or else it will give a wrong overall statistics.

Hi, There is a confusion about GLX model. Previuosly GLX petrol was only available with 1.6 litre engine. GLX with 1.4 option is a very recent launch. So, we have 2 models called GLX with only a difference in engine capacities. I think that is causing the confusion with this particular model. It could happen that the electrical system of the car has leaks and its draining the battery rapidly. I heard from a battery expert that this happens. Do not rule out the battery being down once again.

Mileage drastically drops with increase in speed. For example if you would have covered the same distance at 90 to 100 K/hr, you could have got far better mileage.

Hi, This is an excellent review. Just one question. The mileage you mentioned is with or without AC? If its with AC on 100% of the time, I would think its not too bad. But without AC or with 50% AC on, it shoulod be in the 12 to 13 range.

'typical Indian mentality of Maruti cars, Nokia phones and bajaj scooters etc which we have learnt from our grand parents' - I did not know our grand parents used Nokia phones. hahhaahaa. By the way, Nokia is the worlds largest mobile phone manufacturer. Any car has pros and cons. A good review is o...ne which describes both properly. What about driving dynamics? I am not a good driver to push a car to its limits, but I read a review from an expert that its best in its class, and only Fiesta can come closer to it. Try to take a sharp turn on high speeds, it will not understeer or oversteer unlike cars in the same category. Also, in spite of a high sitting position, the feel of the road is surprisingly good.
