I've kept away from Hindi movies most of the times, just because of one reason. More often than not I have been made to regret the fact that I was supposed to be sitting at home and reading something worthwhile. But having read the Afghan by Forsyth (no good) and The Kite runner by Hossaini (one...Read more

It is not just in Tamil that mohanlal has done horrendous roles. He has done a lot of stupid movies in malayalam too, like vamanapuram bus route, hariharan pilla happy aanu and so on... Probably it is just that he hasnt had enough opportunities in Tamil. Iruvar was an awesome movie, that is one of m...y favourite tamil movies.Read More

The man next door, that is what Mohanlal is... Once in a while he can be the larger than life flaming torch of righteousness, but then, we love him more for the roles in Kilukkam, Bharatham, and Nadodikkattu than anything else. And that is what he does in Vadakkunnathan. The movie starts with...Read more

The movie: I read the book before I watched the movie, twice. I compared every moment in the movie with that in the book. I read every damn review I got to read before I walked into PVR Cinemas, and my expectations were are the rock bottom. But when I walked out of the theater I had only one ...Read more

Well, one thing I expected out of a Satyan Anthikkad movie was that it would have a strong underlying theme- considering achuvinte amma, manassinakkare etc. But looks like Satyan here tried to concentrate on too many things at a time and ended up creating a typical feel good movie, with nothing ...Read more

Havent seen the movie, but this was one I had been looking forward to going to... From what I understand from your review, I gotta go with a add-on sequel mindset- they are never gonna be as good as the first one, but if it is at least half as good, it would be worth the money... Keep typing!

Why do people love stories about heroes and revolutionaries? My take is that it is because, in this modern day world, each one of us is forced to put a mask on our integrity and act in the most diplomatic way, not reacting to any evils in the society. We stand, eyes trained on the floor, pretend...Read more

Dear Arvin, You are entitled to your opinion of liking or disliking my comment, I respect your opinion. I have not called hanuman an Ape, I have mentioned him as an Ape-god, by which i meant A God in the form of an ape. Well, I also worship Hanuman, and I wouldn't have got hurt with someone mentio...ning the same way. Nevertheless, I'm rephrasing the wordings in my review, so that It doesnt hurt anyone else... Nowadays malayalam movies seem to be more focused on double meanings and vulgar comedy. I guess the only recent movie I would rate as a good comedy would be Meesha Madhavan. Yeah, and one omission in your list I noted was Godfather [Hulchul in hindi]... Priyadarshan seems to be making lots, picking ...the best of mallu movies and releasing them in Bollywood... Lets see if any of these end up in Hollywood!!!Read More

Satyan Anthikkadu's movies are special. Because they are plucked out from the lives of people around you and me. Not even a single character is far-fetched. In most, there are no stunts, no songs where hundreds of dancers in bright clothes dance behind the hero and heroine, no hero worship [in f...Read more
