SOME QUOTES

Posted on Aug 05, 2008 under General

In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.

Knowledge speaks, but wisdom listens.

Education is a progressive discovery of our own ignorance

If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough.

njoy and have a great lunch

Posted on Jul 30, 2008 under General

Lets think about mother earth.Let us talk about BIGGEST Problems world is facing today

1. Pollution - of the air, the water, the soil.

We must reassume our historical responsibility for our children’s future by protecting their heritage. .

2. Natural resources running out, or being degraded.

The oil, the water, the old growth forests, are all limited resources. They must be conserved for the most important future uses.

3. Population growth outstripping resources worldwide.

It is the mindset of modernity that needs to be addressed, criticized, and revised.

Who is ur favorite Teacher and why?

Posted on Jun 19, 2008 under General

Hi Friends

Eachone of us are educated and came across many teachers/guides/mentors.We learned a lot from them and today what we are is due to a big contribution from there side.I just came some quotes on web

A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.

A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others.

The true teacher defends his pupils against his own personal influence. He inspires self-distrust. He guides their eyes from himself to the spirit that quickens him. He will have no disciple.

A good teacher is a master of simplification and an enemy of simplism.

We expect teachers to handle teenage pregnancy, substance abuse, and the failings of the family. Then we expect them to educate our children.

In Hindi we say

Guru Gobind dou khade Kake lagoon paye

Balihari guru apne jin gobind diyo milaye

Lets share ur views and talk about some of ur favorite teachers and how they changed /effected ur lives??

Latest Trend: Universal Remotes

Posted on Jun 03, 2008 under General

Hi Friends
I have tried to make this post as simple and less techinal as possible

Universal Remote controls are the latest trend. Nowadays it is no surprise to find 4 or 5 different remote control units in an average living room. TV, Stereo set, DVD player, VCR, AC,Settop box and a Satellite receiver are among the most popular devices and each and every one of them has a unique remote control unit. People want to control all these devices with one single universal remote control unit.

Types of Universal Remotes

Two major types of universal remote controllers exist: Learning controllers and Lookup Table controllers. A combination of both types in one controller is also possible.

Learning Universal Remote Controls

This type of universal remote controllers has the ability to learn new Device Infrared codes. Usually you must align it head to head with the original remote controller and then press a special sequence of buttons on both controllers. The universal remote controller sees the patterns transmitted by the original remote controller and stores them in its memory. Later it can play back the learned patterns when you press the keys on the universal remote controller.

One of the biggest advantages of this approach is that the universal remote controller can learn codes of brand new remote controllers as well as the old available remotes.

Look-Up Table based Universal Remote Controllers

A lookup table universal remote controller uses lookup tables to simulate the original controllers . In order to program the universal remote controller one needs to enter a special 3 or 4 digit code which can usually be found in a little booklet that came with the universal remote controller. This code internally represents a device/model/brand and all keys of the universal remote controller are mapped to their corresponding commands.

The major disadvantage of this sort of universal remote controllers is that devices which are younger than the universal remote controller are not supported by it, simply because the universal remote controller manufacturer cannot implement something which doesn't exist yet.
Device based Universal Remotes

Most universal remotes sold today are device based. When using this type of remote the user presses a button associated with the desired device to control and then uses the remaining buttons to control that single device. To start controlling another device the user presses a different device button and the remote then starts sending command to the new device. Typical mode buttons on this type of remote might be labeled "TV", "DVD", "Receiver", etc. An example of a device based remote is the Home Theater Master line of remotes.

Activity based Universal Remotes

Some universal remotes work on the concept of activities. Instead of the user controlling each device individually they instead focus on the 'activity' that they want to perform. For example they might want to 'Watch a Movie', 'Listen to Music', or 'Watch TV' When a particular activity is selected the universal remote may send out the necessary command to various devices to turn on and to configure device to accomplish the desired activity. For example selecting a 'Watch a movie' activity might turn on the TV, configure the TV to the DVD video input, turn on the amplifier, configure the amplifier to the DVD audio input, turn on the DVD player, and start the DVD playing. One of the most popular activity based remotes is the Logitech Harmony line of remotes.

Some advanced technologies are 2 way IR remotes,Home lightcontrol Universal remotes like ZWave/Zigbee etc

three and half hr Journey to New Bangalore Airport

Posted on Jun 02, 2008 under General

Friends

New Bangalore Airport has started. So I thought I should share my experience about Journey to Bangalore Airport.

My StartPoint was MG Road
Time: 6:30
As I started from one of the bussiest roads so I was stuck there itself as on that day Chinnaswamy satdium had a IPL match. So till 7 I was not able to cross this road around 7:10 I crossed hotel capital and moved towards airport.Jam continued as I passed Red Light near Hotel chalukya.Trafic became a bit ease afterwards but as I crossed windsor manon It was again very slow moving traffic near Kaveri circle. As I crossed Kaveri theatre and moved toward Mekhri circle again Big Jam Time was 8pm.When I reached hebbal Time was 8:50. So Exactly at 8:55 I was on Kodigehalli gate.It took me another one hr to reach Airport. So the effective time was 3:30 hrs (More than 3 hrs).Thank God I went to receive someone.

I think if somebody starts from electronics city /ITPL Better should start 4 hrs before the flight (still has a chance of missing:))
