Reviewed Pitfalls in the Indian Cricket Team

Oct 31, 2006 08:44 AM 3093 Views

The recent losses in the champions trophy should have been a strong eye opener for the people who run Indian cricket and especially those responsible for selection. The problem was none other than team selection. I sincerely believe that is what caused India early exit in this competetion. Th...Read more

Hi...well I really don't agree with a lot of what you say..... First- Badani...Just where do you plan to bat Badani in the present line up....You want to talk about Sehwag's place...Then just hang on coz i'll talk abou that in a bit...Badani is primarily a middle order bat...so who do you want hi...m to replace amongst Ganguly, Dravid, Tendulkar and Lakshman...Agreed Badani is a fine player but he's probably gonne end up as one of the unlucky guys to be born in an era when India's batting is at its strongest.....BTW...you call Badani a spinner??? Badani till date has taken no wickets in his four tests he has played...3 wickets in the 40 ODIs he has played....6 wickets in the longer verison of domestic cricket...which incidentally extends to 78 matches and 14 wickets in 108 matches in the limited overs version of our first class setup....Do you still call him a spinner??? Sehwag you mentioned didn't you...Well Viru may not be the purists choice of an opening batsman but check out his career records...look at what he did for us in Australia...You remember a guy called srikkanth...he was good wasn't he...Viru isn't the first to play the game from the no1 slot the way he does...and to be brutally honest with you..the stats put him as one of the most sucessful modern day openers vs the aussies at this point of time.... Deep Das Gupta for Parthiv....I'm not totally against that but if you've ever watched Gupta you wiull realise that as a wicket keeper he is extremely limited...Parthiv is any day a better bet...im hearing about a youngster from MP these days...maybe he could be Parthiv's replacement...but im not too gun ho over Gupta... WHy three spinners...ok i agree with that to an extent...but then again all three are totally different. I really think that India will not play more than 1 spinner in any test but if one of our pacers breaks down then the scenario will change...Powar is probably here for the experience and thats it... Wow...Truly brilliant...When our boys lose we run them to the dogs, burn effegies and attack their homes..when our boys win we accuse them of being cheaters...Hell I'm not even gonna try and argue the logic of this with anyone..But I would like to respond to a few... Aman-To begin with.....U WOND...ER A LOT!!!!!! Thats usually good...but in this case your wondering seems pretty aimless...India was 90/4 and went onto make 294 and win the match....Big Deal...In that case I'll give you a list of matches which have been fixed..World Cup 1975..Pak Vs WI...a last wicket unbroken partnership of 64 between the 8 and no 11 batsman saw windies through...not possible right...Ind vs Aus at Bangalore...Kumble and Srinath added about 50 to in the game for India...hell I could go on and on...Maybe you just started watchin cricket...And just in case yu wonder why Shoaib was not bowled at the end..well Inzy needed wickets...and he bowled out 9 overs of Shoaib earlier.. Mehul-- Same comment for you man...The only way Inzy could win was by taking wickets and thats why he boled out Shoaib...Yasir was o far down the track he could never have got back Shreya-- All tickets and Tv rights sold a long time ago. PCb has mde it's bucks. Arshad- Completely agree with you...It's time we stood by our boys and appreciated a great perfmance.... Read More

I just posted my comments on a similair case where the company could not back up its promise (ICICI bank- big bazaar Credit Card). From what i understand this offer of Citi's is similiar to the HomeSaver scheme of Stan C. Guess they haven't done a proper product training programme for their staff ...at the time of the rollout. Nothing more you can do then lodge complaints, sit on their heads and drive them crazy....oh btw...why dont u ask them to reduce your interest rate as compensation for the mess they've created...dont laugh...they actually can do that...Read More

This really is turning out be a problem for most players in the financial sector...The need for growthis and tapping of new segments is getting so strong that quite often without putting the necessary infrastructure in place the banks and other nbfcs are launching their products...Furthermore incorr...ect communication is being pased onto the consumer which misguides him....I suggest you drop in a written complaint at an ICICI branch help desk reegarding this issue...Read More

Hmm...what you said sure sounds bad but I'll have to say this...it's more likely to be a freak case coz I've found their services to be pretty good so far.... My suggestion is that you visit the nearest branch and speak to one of their customer care officers...If possible hand in a complaint in w...ritten and keep a received copy with you..if nothing else it'll act as a psychological thing that you have a receieved complaint copy with you....If no-one helps you put in a word with the branch manager and let him know you really don't like the service...Im sure you'll get a call very soon...and btw the month end is tomorrow..don't be surprised if you suddenly find everything falling into place by magic..afterall the ASM PL will definitely have targets and 80,000 is a pretty decent ticket size for him to miss out on....Read More
