My wife and kids all got smartphones in the last year for the express purpose of being part of the WhatsApp conversations going on all around them. These conversations were between the kids in their 3rd and 4th grade classes as well as between the parents(mostly mothers) of those classes. I am surprised that the app is supposedly limited to age 16. There is absolutely no indication of this that I noticed when installing it. Great app to replace texting, especially for forming groups with common interests.
