Value for Money:

I am a loyal Nokia customer; I believe Nokia phones are damage proof. After my 3310’s battery kept dying on me I wanted to move ahead with technology. At the time I had to travel a long distance to work and was planning to purchase a radio. That is when someone suggested that I buy a Nokia 6610. It came with good recommendations from users.

So, I went to a Nokia dealer exchanged my old 3310 and paid around Rs.9000 in the year 2004 for the phone. I was impressed with the sleek look, a black and silver panel, colored screen and the radio, which I totally adored. Sadly, I could fully utilize the radio because I got promoted and had to think strategies and make calls on my way to work (yeah the phone was lucky for me)

Features that set the 6610 apart:

Durability: Like all Nokia phones you may drop it as many times as you please with no damage caused. The box can read ''Handle with all carelessness''

Loudspeaker: This is a cool feature that allows more than one person to call and speak with the caller at the same time. It is so convenient when u need to do things, like grooming yourself while talking. I always hated hands-free set’s cause they keep falling off your ear.

Radio: In Bangalore this is so worthwhile with Radio city playing your favorite numbers, the sound is clear on headset but a lil distorted on speaker. The sad part is that you would need to attach the hands free set to be able to use radio. So whenever I need to listen to the radio I go hunting for my hands free.

GPRS: I used this facility when Airtel offered their free internet browsing scheme. I was busy messaging my friends on yahoo, sending mail, and downloading wallpapers and ring tones (however they stopped offering the facility for free and I stopped the use of GPRS)

Sent items: Remember those SMS ‘s that people claim they have not received. You can prove you have sent those by showing them your send items.

Inbox storage: I can store around 40 messages at a time (Have not kept more than 40)

Calendar/TO-DO List: Throw away all Palm tops and digital diaries, you can set meeting and birthday reminder and maintain a to-do list of thing that are on priority.

Minuses: -

Paint peeling: The panel managed to peel off in just 4 months of use. It looks totally uncool with the silver paint all gone.

Radio Use: Headset required to be able to use radio.

Infrared: This feature is as good as useless; you cannot transfer any pictures or ring tones tru infrared. It can be only used to transfer business cards or contacts.

Otherwise, I am a satisfied customer and proud of my phone. I almost forgot to mention I just came back from a meeting and guess what…. the CDO (Chief delivery officer) of my company uses the same type of phone.
