Frankly, disappointed. I expected atleast some entertainment from this Rakesh Roshan directorial, maybe in the form of Hrithik’s dance moves, but basically I wanted to convince my mother that it was
worth a hundred rupee ticket. Unfortunately, electricity was interuppted in the last ten minutes, and I missed the spectacle of Hrithik. Also unfortunately, I sat through 90% of the movie and was cursing. The movie circles around the four protagonists, who are mental hospital patients. Their doctor (Juhi Chawla) takes them out for an excursion and then the ’krazyness’ occurs. While these ’mental patients’, who don’t have anything so wrong with them that they need medical care, are let loose on the city, Arshad Warsi and Irrfan Khan’s lives before institutionalisation are shown, and they tr to tug at the heart of the audience, who is half-asleep, so it doesn’t really work. All in all, a goody two shoes ending where all the bad guys are either dead or in jail, and four mental patients along with their doc are giving heartfelt speeches to the janta, admonishing them for their intolerance towards these ’madmen’, while the real public in the theatre is bewildered as to why they are being blamed for their attitude toward people, who as far as I gathered, have admitted themselves into the hospital. The acting performance is decent though, Irrfan Khan and Arshad Warsi have done atleast justice to their role. Ranvir Shorey is also depicted well, and the songs are the only part in the movie where I noticed everyone’s eyes were open. Stay till the end to watch Hrithik dance, if you do go for this movie, but his grooving and Shah Rukh’s moves in the title track are still not worth it.
