The ever increasing obsession with the provision of education at IIMs is definitely responsible for creating stumbling blocks in the minds of the students seeking to pursue a masters in management science.
It was really worthwhile reading the review - ''Dare to think beyond IIMs''. Just when you thought you knew everything, you are doomed. We are increasingly becoming the frog of that famous well. We have lost ability to judge, to analyse, to foresee, to distinguish--- we are in a mess.
My first hand experience with the MBA programme at AMU, Aligarh is a pointer to the fact that education is at par, if not better than a top class b-school. We the students at Department of Business Administration(DBA) are competing with our peers in all walks of this mercenary world. A degree in hand doesn't make you a gentleman, or does it? It all is a function of how long you can travel when the journey is undefined. To put it better, if you have it in you, you go on climbing the success ladder.
My experience with this university & particularly DBA is enviable. Decent classes, rich faculty, cultured people, learned programme, fantastic culture-- isn't that enough to make the best out of you. And yes, all that at a very low price tag, it being a central university. Also it has much to offer besides academics. Our cultural fest-''ASAAS'' is the product of great minds with scores of activities ranging from pin to plane. Another event that adds to the glory of ASAAS is the succeeding fete which is thrown open to all. We guys & gals have fun and we must.
The rich and powerful alumni are placed all over the globe especially in the middle east and south east asia. Proves how well we do once we are out, reverring no!! In India there is a fixed predisposition w.r.t IIMs. We are at par with them, if not better.
This university is a culmination of great minds with over 28000 students on its rolls. We are a part of a larger system having a bigger share of the sky above our heads which provides us with nourishment of life. A melting pot of different religions, culture, traditions is all that makes us the ---------best.
