ICICI promises Card Heaven but delivers Hell !
I have been an ICICI Bank customer since last 5-6 years. Amount of my money with them easily qualifies me for a 'Private Banking Customer' status. My salary account is with ICICI. I use my ICICI debit card regularly. I have never defaulted on any Card payment till now (with other cards I held). My employer company has a special deal with ICICI for issuing of Credit cards.
One would think that above mentioned reasons should be reasonably enough for me to get a card (lowest one). But according to ICICI - maybe yes, maybe no.
I applied for a card more than a month back. No positive response yet from ICICI. If somebody phones, they make sure to do so at home number when I am in office. No representative has visited me. I have escalated the issue 3 times. Each time they give me a new escalation number, some sugar about how he/she will get onto it NOW (I have never managed to get him/her again on phone) ... and then I guess they wait for me to escalate again.
What is ICICI doing ? Do they get money for all these calls pouring in ? Is it a big thing to just reject my application ? At least then I can move completely to some other issuer.
In my opinion, ICICI is a private sector bank in name only. There is a vast deterioration in quality of service on offer from when I started to deal with it in the first place.
Too bad.
